Some are well informed. Others?<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"wp-image-99957 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Roe-and-Late-term-abortion.jpg\" alt=\"Roe and Late-term abortion\" width=\"620\" height=\"51\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Roe-and-Late-term-abortion.jpg 1173w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Roe-and-Late-term-abortion-300x25.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Roe-and-Late-term-abortion-768x63.jpg 768w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/08\/Roe-and-Late-term-abortion-700x57.jpg 700w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 620px) 100vw, 620px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Not so much.<\/p>\n<p>Many assume late-term abortion is generally illegal. It&#8217;s not. While\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/caselaw.findlaw.com\/us-supreme-court\/410\/113.html\"><i>Roe v. Wade<\/i><\/a> held that abortion <i>could<\/i> be outlawed after the second trimester (changed to viability in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.oyez.org\/cases\/1991\/91-744\"><i>Planned Parenthood v. Casey<\/i><\/a>), there was no <i>obligation<\/i> to do so. Currently, <a href=\"\/news\/there-is-no-federal-law-protecting-the-preborn-from-abortion-at-any-time\/\">federal law<\/a> doesn\u2019t restrict when an abortion can take place.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Some states don\u2019t either. In New Mexico,<a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/inhuman\/inhuman-undercover-in-americas-late-term-abortion-industry-new-mexico\/#more-1127\"> Southwestern Women\u2019s Options<\/a> will perform abortions at up to twenty seven weeks for women who didn\u2019t realize how far along they were.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/uCX-tLqETpk\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>What does that look like? <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abortionprocedures.com\/\">Dr. Anthony Levatino<\/a> can shed some light. Dr. Levatino is an obstetrician-gynecologist who performed over 1,200 abortions in the past, and in the video below, he explains what a third trimester <a href=\"http:\/\/abortionprocedures.com\/induction\/\">induction abortion<\/a> consists of.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/r5Af8vIym2o\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Day 1: To help ensure the baby will be delivered dead and not alive, the abortionist uses a large needle to inject digoxin or potassium chloride through the woman\u2019s abdomen or vagina, targeting the baby\u2019s heart, torso, or head. When the digoxin takes effect, the lethal dose causes a fatal cardiac arrest, and the baby\u2019s life will end. (Even if the needle misses the baby, digoxin can still kill the baby when released into the amniotic sack, but will usually take longer to kill the child.)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">During the same visit, the abortionist inserts multiple laminaria sticks, or sterilized seaweed, to open up the woman\u2019s cervix.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Day 2: The abortionist replaces the laminaria and may perform a second ultrasound to ensure that the baby is dead. If the child is still alive, the abortionist administers a second lethal dose of digoxin or potassium chloride. During this visit, the abortionist may administer labor-inducing drugs.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The woman goes back to where she is staying while her cervix continues to dilate. The woman will usually wait a period of two to four days for her cervix to dilate enough for her to deliver the dead baby.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Day 3 or 4: The woman returns to the clinic to deliver her dead baby. If she goes into labor before she can make it to the abortion clinic in time, she will deliver her baby at home or in a hotel room. During this time, a woman may be advised to sit on a bathroom toilet until the abortionist arrives. If she can make it to the clinic, she will do so during her most heavy and severe contractions and deliver the dead baby.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>For abortions between thirteen and twenty-four weeks (usually considered the point of viability), a method known as dilation and evacuation (D&amp;E) is used. As you hear Dr. Levatino\u2019s description, keep in mind that there\u2019s evidence a baby can <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nytimes.com\/2008\/02\/10\/magazine\/10Fetal-t.html?_r=0\">feel pain<\/a> at twenty weeks.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jgw4X7Dw_3k\" width=\"500\" height=\"281\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">After the amniotic fluid is removed, the abortionist uses a sopher clamp \u2014 a grasping instrument with rows of sharp \u201cteeth\u201d \u2014 to grasp and pull the baby\u2019s arms and legs, tearing the limbs from the child\u2019s body.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The abortionist continues to grasp intestines, spine, heart, lungs, and any other limbs or body parts. The most difficult part of the procedure is usually finding, grasping and crushing the baby\u2019s head.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">After removing pieces of the child\u2019s skull, the abortionist uses a curette to scrape the uterus and remove the placenta and any remaining parts of the baby.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Why would a D&amp;E happen? <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adfmedia.org\/files\/CrossCalifCourtOfAppealsOpinion.pdf\">Gary Cross<\/a> had Planned Parenthood arrange one when he got his thirteen year-old step daughter pregnant (her mother noticed she was gaining weight). It allowed him to keep right on abusing her.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\" wp-image-69064 aligncenter\" src=\"\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/photo_1_ecfe54162b32c10cc36258e5da6f6e44.today-inline-large.jpg\" alt=\"photo_1_ecfe54162b32c10cc36258e5da6f6e44.today-inline-large\" width=\"456\" height=\"257\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/photo_1_ecfe54162b32c10cc36258e5da6f6e44.today-inline-large.jpg 700w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/08\/photo_1_ecfe54162b32c10cc36258e5da6f6e44.today-inline-large-300x169.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 456px) 100vw, 456px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>This little guy\u2019s name is <a href=\"\/news\/born-23-weeks-micropremie-sharing-truth-abortion\/\">Trevor Frolek<\/a>. Delivered at twenty three weeks, doctors worked hard to save his life. Others would have worked to kill him. If you see something wrong with that, tell your legislators to <a href=\"\/news\/why-big-abortion-is-afraid-to-challenge-fetal-pain-laws\/\">protect pain-capable children<\/a>.
