A mother from the U.K. miscarried six times in 14 years. Her seventh baby defied the odds.<\/p>\n

Kim Cruickshanks suffers from polycycstic ovary syndrome, a complication that resulted in six miscarriages. According to an article published by the Daily Mail<\/a>\u00a0in 2013, Cruickshanks \u201cwas always at risk of miscarrying because she has polycystic ovaries and her six previous pregnancies all ended before 12 weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n

Despite the mother\u2019s loss of her first six preborn babies, Cruickshanks didn\u2019t give up. Her husband, Anthony Slaughter, celebrated with her as she gave birth to Daisy, a baby girl who was born prematurely at just 23 weeks. For the first 18 days, Daisy\u2019s parents were not permitted to hold her, and she spent three months fighting for her life at Medway Maritime Hospital.<\/p>\n

The doctors said Daisy may not survive, \u201cas 22-23 weeks is the upper limit of survival for premature children, with a lower percentage of survival compared with children born just weeks later,\u201d Life News reported<\/a> at the time. On August 1, 2013, Daisy went home, weighing just 4 pounds, 8 ounces.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt feels like it\u2019s a miracle. I didn\u2019t think it was going to happen,\u201d Cruickshanks said. \u201cWe were told it was highly unlikely she would make it. I thought we were going to lose her.\u201d<\/p>\n

Daisy\u2019s story is indeed nothing short of a miracle. While her mother\u2019s miscarriages all happened before 12 weeks pregnancy, Daisy passed the three month marker. Even though Daisy was born prematurely several weeks before her due date and right before the abortion limit, her story is one that proves all life is worth fighting for.<\/p>\n

This year, on April 20th, Daisy Grace Slaughter celebrated her third birthday. Her mother says they are “forever thankful” for their girl, who is also now a big sister:<\/p>\n
