A photo<\/a> of a mother holding her\u00a0newly born baby girl aboard a jet airliner has gone viral. The baby was reportedly born on a Cebu Pacific Airlines\u00a0flight from Dubai to the Philippines, at an\u00a0altitude of approximately 36,000 feet.<\/p>\n

Cebu Pacific Airlines confirmed that the baby was born four hours into the flight. ABC News<\/a> reports that the mother and baby were cared for by the flight crew and by two nurses who happened to be passengers on the same aircraft. The flight was diverted to India so the mother and baby could receive proper medical attention.<\/p>\n

Missy Berberabe Umandal, the passenger who took the snapshot, described the event: “It was such [a] heartening moment. Mothers don’t get as much credit as they do, and that mother who gave birth on a plane was truly a wonder[ful] woman.” Umandal was flying home to the Philippines, when the mother went into labor near\u00a0her. Umandal shared her story in a post on Facebook:<\/p>\n
