{"id":99277,"date":"2016-08-17T13:52:00","date_gmt":"2016-08-17T17:52:00","guid":{"rendered":"\/news\/?p=99277"},"modified":"2016-08-17T13:52:00","modified_gmt":"2016-08-17T17:52:00","slug":"thomas-more-files-lift-injunction-university-of-washington-fetal-parts-documents","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/thomas-more-files-lift-injunction-university-of-washington-fetal-parts-documents\/","title":{"rendered":"Thomas More files to lift injunction on University of Washington fetal parts documents"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>The Thomas More Society, on behalf of the pro-life investigators at the Center for Medical Progress, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thomasmoresociety.org\/thomas-more-society-seeks-to-lift-injunction-on-release-of-univ-of-washington-fetal-tissue-research\/\">has filed papers<\/a> with the US District Court for the Western District of Washington, to lift the injunction on releasing documents pertaining to the University of Washington&#8217;s use of parts from aborted babies.<\/p>\n<p>The records could shed light on Planned Parenthood\u2019s oft-repeated claim that its tissue program facilitated nothing more than \u201cdonations,\u201d rather than illegal profits as <a href=\"\/news\/amanda-marcotte-packs-a-year-of-baby-parts-lies-into-a-single-diatribe\/\">indicated<\/a> by Planned Parenthood officials caught on tape by CMP\u2019s undercover videos released last year. But opponents of the request claim releasing the documents could jeopardize the privacy of researchers.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Thomas More has responded that Washington\u2019s Public Records Act does not justify the restraining order, as there is no expectation of privacy pertaining to public employees&#8217; work for a state agency governed by an open records law.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/AbortionProcedures.com\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-88619\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/levatino-ad-LAN.jpg\" alt=\"levatino-ad-LAN\" width=\"306\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/levatino-ad-LAN.jpg 306w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/levatino-ad-LAN-300x221.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 306px) 100vw, 306px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe people have a right to know how their government is run,\u201d Thomas More Society Special Counsel Peter Breen said.
