The statement, based on the mythology of the abortion industry and its campaign of misinformation, however, contradicts\u00a0the very ideals of\u00a0feminism and the personhood of the woman.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->The fact is, the abortion industry has been long involved in waging a war against women and motherhood.\u00a0Although abortion advocates\u00a0claim they serve the\u00a0interests of women, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/projects\">Planned Parenthood profits\u00a0from the manipulation, coercion, and abuse of mothers and young girls, and advocates<\/a> for\u00a0the very violence that keeps them\u00a0powerless.<\/p>\n<p>Investigations by Live Action reveal that Planned Parenthood has\u00a0covered up child sexual abuse and sex-trafficking, ignored mandatory reporting laws, and sent victims back to rapists and pimps. Instead of helping vulnerable women, Planned Parenthood helps\u00a0sexual abusers obtain secret abortions for the sake of profit, enabling them to continue their crimes.<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood also consistently lobbies against legislation to ban sex-selective abortions, supporting discrimination against the littlest and the most defenseless women in the womb.<\/p>\n<p>In fact, Planned Parenthood is willing\u00a0to commit abortions based solely on the sex of the child, as investigated by Live Action in 2012. India,\u00a0a country that has experienced the devastating effects\u00a0of\u00a0gender imbalance due to\u00a0sex-selection and gendercide, is working to end\u00a0the practice; yet taxpayer-funded Planned Parenthood willingly\u00a0targets women for elimination in the womb.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/U2H3ZDnBtuw\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood founder Margaret Sanger, a eugenicist\u00a0who\u00a0encouraged forced sterilization and birth control, supported these practices as a means of producing what she believed to be a cleaner race. Sanger&#8217;s methods\u00a0for population control, which are antithetical to the empowerment of women, sought to eliminate\u00a0the weak, the disabled, and those she deemed unfit for society.<\/p>\n<p>When\u00a0countries, such as\u00a0China and India, enforce\u00a0methods of population control, women suffer as a result.<\/p>\n<p>The United Nations reports that over 100 million girls \u2014 victims of female gendercide \u2014are missing today because they have been killed in the womb\u00a0or\u00a0abandoned. These tiny women, who have been silently discarded based on the notion\u00a0that they are less valuable, are the victims of\u00a0societies that have abandoned human rights and\u00a0human dignity.<\/p>\n<p>It is undoubtedly clear that\u00a0abortion industry is profoundly anti-woman. However, media and lobbyists have packaged abortion in euphemisms to disguise how\u00a0abortion\u00a0is destroying society and the dignity of women.<\/p>\n<p>While women, for decades, have overcome incredible odds, defied challenges, and rose above oppressive societal structures, they are now being sold the lie that their empowerment comes through the destruction of another.<\/p>\n<p>In the book <em>Subverted<\/em>, author Sue Ellen Browder describes how the\u00a0women&#8217;s movement, which once\u00a0joined\u00a0human rights in demanding equal opportunity,\u00a0became\u00a0a product\u00a0of the sexual revolution. Motherhood\u00a0and women&#8217;s fertility became inconveniences, and a woman&#8217;s ability to &#8220;control her own body&#8221; became\u00a0\u2014in violation of human rights\u00a0\u2014 a constitutional right.<\/p>\n<p>However, the redefinition of women&#8217;s empowerment is in sharp contrast to true feminism. Many of the\u00a0early\u00a0feminists\u00a0who fought for women&#8217;s suffrage were pro-life, and recognized the harm that abortion inflicts upon women. Alice Paul called abortion &#8220;the ultimate exploitation of women,&#8221; while suffragettes\u00a0Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, and Victoria Woodhull\u00a0affirmed the\u00a0preciousness\u00a0of every human life.<\/p>\n<p>Instead of empowering women to achieve against all odds \u2014 the very heartbeat of feminism \u2014 the abortion lobby has made\u00a0mothers the enemies of\u00a0their own children.<\/p>\n<p>Mother Teresa, who often spoke against abortion, said the right to abortion has &#8220;pitted\u00a0mothers against their children,&#8221; portraying ones who should be celebrated and welcomed\u00a0as threats and an &#8220;inconvenience.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The so-called right to abortion has pitted mothers against their children and women against men. It has sown violence and discord at the heart of the most intimate human relationships.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">It has aggravated the derogation of the father&#8217;s role in an increasingly fatherless society.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">It has portrayed the greatest of gifts\u2014a child\u2014as a competitor, an intrusion, and an inconvenience. It has nominally accorded mothers unfettered domination over the independent lives of their physically dependent sons and daughters.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>It is only\u00a0through upholding\u00a0the dignity of women and preborn children that the human rights of both can be protected.
