When discussing children in the womb, abortion advocates have a simple goal: dehumanize them.<\/p>\n

But it gets tougher to do as time goes on. After all, a child\u2019s sex is often visible on ultrasound<\/a> by 14 weeks, and there\u2019s evidence she can feel pain<\/a> 6 weeks after that. Calling her a \u201cclump of cells\u201d or a \u201cblob of tissue” just isn\u2019t as effective at this point; most people know they\u2019re looking at a baby.<\/p>\n

Dr. Anthony Levatino<\/a> knows it. Dr. Levatino is an obstetrician-gynecologist who\u2019s done over 1,200 abortions, and in the video below, he describes a second trimester abortion technique known as dilation and evacuation (D&E).<\/p>\n

After the amniotic fluid is removed, the abortionist uses a sopher clamp \u2014 a grasping instrument with rows of sharp \u201cteeth\u201d \u2014 to grasp and pull the baby\u2019s arms and legs, tearing the limbs from the child\u2019s body.<\/p>\n

The abortionist continues to grasp intestines, spine, heart, lungs, and any other limbs or body parts. The most difficult part of the procedure is usually finding, grasping and crushing the baby\u2019s head.<\/p>\n

After removing pieces of the child\u2019s skull, the abortionist uses a curette to scrape the uterus and remove the placenta and any remaining parts of the baby.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Given those facts, another argument gets used to justify late-term abortions: they’re only done when \u201cmedically necessary.\u201d<\/p>\n

\"Late-termThey’re not<\/a>. There\u2019s also no<\/a> federal restrictions on when an abortion can take place; some states don\u2019t impose any either. So why might a late-term abortion happen? Well, Gary Cross<\/a> got Planned Parenthood to arrange one on his 13-year-old stepdaughter after he raped her. By destroying the evidence, Planned Parenthood allowed her abuse to continue undetected.<\/p>\n

New Mexico\u2019s Southwestern Women\u2019s Options<\/a> performs induction abortions<\/a> at up to 27 weeks for women who didn\u2019t realize how far along they were, something a pregnant Live Action volunteer proved when she visited with a hidden camera.<\/p>\n

Of course, late-term abortions don\u2019t always go as planned. Gianna Jessen<\/a> and Melissa Ohden<\/a> were delivered during botched abortions. While both women survived, others aren\u2019t so lucky: many survivors are killed<\/a> or left to die<\/a>. Live Action caught staff at a number of late-term abortion centers promising<\/a> to do just that; one claimed surviving infants are put in \u201ca jar of solution.\u201d<\/p>\n

If you\u2019d like to see that change, tell your legislators\u00a0to\u00a0protect pain-capable children<\/a> and abortion survivors<\/a>. Further, say that you want judicial nominees<\/a> who’ll uphold them. Because the fact is, even some abortion supporters recognize we\u2019re dealing with babies here.<\/p>\n
