This week marked one year since the Center for Medical Progress<\/a> released its first of many undercover videos exposing Planned Parenthood harvesting baby parts.<\/p>\n

David Daleiden<\/a>, the man behind the investigation, along with others, exposed the realities going on behind closed doors at Planned Parenthood abortion facilities across the country. Thanks to him and the CMP team, we\u2019ve learned many things from watching the videos<\/a> uncovering the truths of America\u2019s largest abortion chain.<\/p>\n

Here are five things we learned about Planned Parenthood from the Center for Medical Progress investigation…<\/p>\n

1.\u00a0Planned Parenthood harvests aborted\u00a0baby parts<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

In the first video released<\/a>, we learned that Planned Parenthood harvests the body parts of aborted babies.<\/p>\n

Dr. Deborah Nucatola, Senior Director of Planned Parenthood Federation of America, was caught on tape saying<\/a>, \u201cA lot of people want intact hearts these days, they\u2019re looking for specific nodes. AV nodes… yesterday I was like wow, I didn\u2019t even know, good for them.\u201d<\/p>\n

While eating lunch and drinking wine, Nucatola talked about the gruesome ways best to achieve fully intact babies.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I\u2019m not gonna crush that part, I\u2019m going to basically crush below, I\u2019m gonna crush above, and I\u2019m gonna see if I can get it all intact,\u201d Nucatola said.<\/p>\n

But the atrocities don\u2019t stop there.<\/p>\n

2.\u00a0Planned Parenthood has a callous disregard for human life<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

In the follow up video<\/a> released days after the initial release, Dr. Mary Gatter, President of Planned Parenthood Federation of America\u2019s Medical Director\u2019s Council, bargained over prices of aborted baby parts<\/a>.<\/p>\n

One investigator posing as a buyer asked, \u201cWhat would you expect for intact tissue? What sort of compensation?\u201d<\/p>\n

Gatter responded with, \u201cWell why don\u2019t you start by telling me what you\u2019re used to paying…. You know in negotiations the person who throws out the figure first is at a loss, right?”<\/p>\n

With plenty of haggling between the buyer and Gatter \u2013 prices being thrown out included $50 and $75 \u2013 the settled price ended up being $100.<\/p>\n

\u201cAnd are we agreed that $100 would keep you happy?\u201d the buyer asked.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think so,\u201d said Laurel Felczer, Senior Director of Medical Services.<\/p>\n

But the bargaining over prices of baby parts continued.<\/p>\n

Gatter mentioned that it\u2019s been awhile since she talked about compensation, and that she needed to see what other prices were out there. The total disrespect for human life didn\u2019t end without Gatter jokingly saying she wanted an expensive ride with the compensation she was hoping to get.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt\u2019s been years since I talked about compensation, so let me just figure out what others are getting\u2026 if it\u2019s still low then we can bump it up,\u201d Gatter said. \u201cI want a Lamborghini.\u201d<\/p>\n

3.\u00a0Planned Parenthood appears to profit off of baby parts<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood profits off of abortions. But until the release of the CMP videos, it was unclear as to whether or not the corporation profited from selling baby parts.<\/p>\n

In yet another disturbing undercover video<\/a>, and probably one of the most horrific as far as content goes, we see a Planned Parenthood medical assistant casually pick through the body parts of an aborted baby.<\/p>\n

Dr. Savita Ginde, Vice President and Medical Director of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, discussed compensation for\u00a0individual body part specimens versus fully intact babies.<\/p>\n

\u201cI think a per-item thing works a little better, just because we can see how much we can get out of it,\u201d Ginde said.<\/p>\n

In another video<\/a>, Vanessa Russo, Compliance Program Administrator for Planned Parenthood Keystone, was caught on tape saying, \u201cA company like this that wants to give our organization money for the tissue \u2013 I think that that\u2019s a valid exchange, and that that\u2019s okay.\u201d<\/p>\n

Later on in the same video, we hear from Deborah VanDerhei, National Director for the Consortium of Abortion Providers, discuss remuneration. According to the Center for Medical Progress, \u201cVanDerhei refers to payments for fetal tissue as \u2018donation for remuneration,\u2019 which carries the connotation of financial reward or benefit without regard for actual expenses.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI have been talking to the executive director of the National Abortion Federation, we\u2019re trying to figure this out as an industry, about how we\u2019re going to manage remuneration, because the headlines would be a disaster,\u201d VanDerhei said.<\/p>\n

4.\u00a0Planned Parenthood officials expressed willingness to alter abortion procedures to harvest baby body parts<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

It is normal for Planned Parenthood providers to manipulate abortions in order to harvest specimens, according to officials caught on tape.<\/p>\n

When Daleiden went undercover at the Texas Planned Parenthood<\/a>, we learned that abortion procedures can be adjusted to harvest body parts, including liver-thymus and brain tissue.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe bake that into our contract, and our protocol, that we follow this, so we deviate from our standard in order to do that,\u201d said Melissa Farrell, Director of Research for Planned Parenthood Gulf Coast. \u201cSome of our doctors in the past have projects and they\u2019re collecting the specimens, so they do it in a way that they get the best specimens, so I know it can happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

5.\u00a0The ultimate abuse on innocent life\u00a0—\u00a0abortion — is a significant part of Planned Parenthood’s business<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood makes money off of abortions. The abortion chain offers services<\/a> like STD testing, contraception and pregnancy tests, but these distractions only mask what really goes on behind every single Planned Parenthood abortion facility in America, the killing of millions of innocent lives every year.<\/p>\n

America’s largest abortion chain has claimed that only 3 percent of its services are abortions. This is misleading, at best.\u00a0Even the Washington Post – a paper that supports Planned Parenthood – has pointed out the flaws of the corporation’s 3 percent claim. The Washington Post Fact Checker<\/a>\u00a0said, “The 3 percent figure that Planned Parenthood uses is misleading, comparing abortion services to every other service that it provides.”<\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood’s income from abortions is considerably higher than other abortion facilities. In an article published in 2015<\/a>, the Washington Post said, “The main Planned Parenthood Web site \u00a0says first-trimester abortions can cost up to $1,500. Some affiliate clinic Web sites provide a range of costs: a Western Pennsylvania clinic lists $390 to $1,090 for abortions.”<\/p>\n

Live Action News reported last year<\/a> that according to Planned Parenthood’s own numbers, at\u00a0least 23 percent of the organization’s annual clinic income was solely from abortions.<\/p>\n

Not only does abortion\u00a0take away innocent life, but it takes away the right to life, the first among many for humans. This abuse has been going on since the ’70s with the passing of\u00a0Roe v. Wade<\/em>. But even with the genocide of millions of babies every year, Planned Parenthood continues to ignore the humanity of the preborn, and profit from their deaths.<\/p>\n

What We\u2019ve Learned<\/strong><\/p>\n

Groups like the Center for Medical Progress have helped to expose the sad, but true realities of Planned Parenthood and the abortion industry. David Daleiden and his team have risked a lot in order to share the dehumanizing fact that Planned Parenthood harvests baby parts, which appears to be for profit.<\/p>\n

According to the Select Investigative Panel on Infant Lives, the panel looking into the investigative videos exposing Planned Parenthood, it\u2019s mission \u201cis to gather information and get the facts about medical practices of abortion service providers and the business practices of the procurement organizations who sell baby body parts.\u201d<\/p>\n
