But their claim that they were simply collecting reimbursements for donated fetal body parts didn&#8217;t add up. They\u2019ve known all along that the information presented in the videos was true &#8212; and here are five proofs:<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-large wp-image-74069 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Screen-Shot-2015-09-15-at-8.21.17-AM-700x331.png\" alt=\"vanderhei, planned parenthood, headlines, disaster\" width=\"474\" height=\"224\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Screen-Shot-2015-09-15-at-8.21.17-AM-700x331.png 700w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Screen-Shot-2015-09-15-at-8.21.17-AM-300x142.png 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/09\/Screen-Shot-2015-09-15-at-8.21.17-AM.png 1355w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 474px) 100vw, 474px\" \/><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>In the CMP videos, Planned Parenthood employees admit that the\u00a0appearance of profit\u00a0from\u00a0fetal body parts would be a public relations disaster.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cWe\u2019re trying to figure this out as an industry, about how we\u2019re going to manage remuneration. Because the headlines would be a disaster.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2013 Deb VanDerhei, National Director, PPFA<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cObviously, we would have the potential for a huge PR issue, by doing this.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2013 Dr. Carolyn Westhoff, Senior Medical Advisor, PPFA<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cWell it\u2019s an issue you might imagine that we\u2019re not comfortable talking about on email.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2013 Deb VanDerhei, National Director, PPFA<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cThey [clinics] just want to do it in a way that is not perceived as, \u2018This clinic is selling tissue, this clinic is making money off of this.\u2019\u201d\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2013 Dr. Deborah Nucatola, Senior Director of Medical Services, PPFA<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cThis could destroy your company and us, if we don\u2019t time those conversations correctly.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2013Dr. Vanessa Cullins, Vice President for External Medical Affairs, PPFA<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jjxwVuozMnU\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li>Planned Parenthood admitted in the CMP videos that they were dancing around the illegality of fetal body part sales.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201c[\u2026] at the national office we have a Litigation and Law Department which just really doesn\u2019t want us to be the middle people for this issue right now. [\u2026] And at the end of the day, they just decided right now, it\u2019s too touchy of an issue for us to be an official middleman. [\u2026] But I will tell you that behind closed doors these conversations are happening with the affiliates.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2013 Dr. Deborah Nucatola, Senior Director of Medical Services, PPFA, when asked if there was a way to deal directly with PPFA for fetal body part sales rather than each individual affiliate.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li>Planned Parenthood&#8217;s Senior Director of Medical Services\u00a0admitted on video to taking\u00a0orders from clients to find out which body parts were in demand. She\u00a0also admitted to\u00a0altering abortion procedures in order to obtain the valuable parts.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cI\u2019d say a lot of people want liver. And for that reason, most providers will do this case under ultrasound guidance, so they\u2019ll know where they\u2019re putting the forceps. [\u2026] So then you\u2019re just kind of cognizant of where you put your graspers, you try to intentionally go above and below the thorax, so that, you know, we\u2019ve been very good at getting heart, lung, liver, because we know that, so I\u2019m not gonna crush that part. I\u2019m going to basically crush below, I\u2019m gonna crush above, and I\u2019m gonna see if I can get it all intact.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2013 Dr. Deborah Nucatola, Senior Director of Medical Services, PPFA<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cFor example, so I had 8 cases yesterday. And I knew exactly what we needed, and I kinda looked at the list and said alright, this 17-weeker has 8 lams and this one \u2013 so I knew which were the cases that were probably more likely to yield what we needed, and I made my decisions according to that too.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2013 Dr. Deborah Nucatola, Senior Director of Medical Serivces, PPFA<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/petition\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-68636 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DefundAd-400b.jpg\" alt=\"DefundAd-400b\" width=\"400\" height=\"170\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DefundAd-400b.jpg 400w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DefundAd-400b-300x128.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li>Planned Parenthood&#8217;s\u00a0Senior Director of Medical Services described on video how she believes breaking a law can be &#8220;up to interpretation&#8221;:<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cThe Federal Abortion Ban is a law, and laws are up to interpretation. So if I say on day one, \u2018I do not intend to do this,\u2019 what ultimately happens doesn\u2019t matter.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2013 Dr. Deborah Nucatola, Senior Director of Medical Services, PPFA<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li>Planned Parenthood had no policy in place for fetal body parts\u00a0harvesting\u00a0and admitted that this was a calculated move. If there are\u00a0no policies or guidelines, then the umbrella organization of PPFA stands a better chance of protecting its\u00a0reputation, should one affiliate be caught selling body parts.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cWe are absent a policy and that\u2019s relatively intentional, and the policy that we do have suggests that you just really think about what you\u2019re doing, vet your procurement service, and, um, if there\u2019s any way you can do it mission-based, that\u2019s probably better. And that if you do decide that you want to engage in remuneration, that you really need to like, think that through. And think, \u2018New York Times headline,\u2019 when you\u2019re creating your policy.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2013 Deb VanDerhei, National Director, PPFA<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cThere are no guidelines. No. There are guidelines on research, but there are no guidelines on tissue procurement. And there never will be guidelines. [\u2026] If they\u2019re [an affiliate] gonna, you know, participate in something like this, you know there are mechanisms by which contracts can be reviewed and things like that, but there are no guidelines.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u2013Dr. Deborah Nucatola, Senior Director of Medical Services, PPFA<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Planned Parenthood announced that they would stop accepting compensation for fetal body parts within months of the release of the first undercover video.
