I saw another example of that last week.<\/p>\n<p>An online commentor said if you\u2019re against abortion, then you\u2019re welcome not have one, but don&#8217;t take that choice from others. In response, someone asked this person if they supported choice in a different area&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-97473\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Pro-choice-comment1-700x130.jpg\" alt=\"Pro-choice comment1\" width=\"474\" height=\"88\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Pro-choice-comment1-700x130.jpg 700w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Pro-choice-comment1-300x56.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Pro-choice-comment1-768x143.jpg 768w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Pro-choice-comment1.jpg 840w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 474px) 100vw, 474px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The answer? Not so much.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-large wp-image-97474\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Pro-choice-comment2-700x180.jpg\" alt=\"Pro-choice comment2\" width=\"474\" height=\"122\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Pro-choice-comment2-700x180.jpg 700w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Pro-choice-comment2-300x77.jpg 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Pro-choice-comment2-768x197.jpg 768w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/07\/Pro-choice-comment2.jpg 842w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 474px) 100vw, 474px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I pointed out how telling people where they&#8217;re \u201callowed\u201d to pray isn\u2019t very pro-choice; apparently that\u2019s a <a href=\"http:\/\/disq.us\/p\/19t83if\">tough concept to grasp<\/a>. Granted, if you can\u2019t see how <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abortionprocedures.com\/\">getting dismembered<\/a> will stop somebody from ever choosing anything, then some confusion is to be expected.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jgw4X7Dw_3k\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Of course, confusion isn\u2019t just found online; there\u2019s plenty in the Obama administration too. That\u2019s evident from how it sided with California in forcing churches to pay for abortion.<\/p>\n<p>In 2014, California\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/2014\/10\/10\/california-churches-fight-being-forced-to-pay-for-abortions\/\">Department of Managed Health Care<\/a> classified abortion as a \u201cbasic health service\u201d for purposes of the Affordable Care Act, requiring all insurance plans in the state to cover it. Some churches that didn\u2019t want to be complicit in abortion challenged the move in court.<\/p>\n<p>They also argued <a href=\"\/news\/think-pro-lifers-want-to-control-your-body-lets-fix-that\/\">conscience protections<\/a> in the Weldon Amendment were being violated. The Weldon Amendment curtails federal funding when states discriminate against a \u201chealth care entity that does not provide, pay for, provide coverage of, or refer for abortions,\u201d and they cited that provision to the Office for Civil Rights at the Department of Health and Human Services. Its director, Jocelyn Samuels, <a href=\"\/news\/obama-administration-refuses-to-stop-california-from-forcing-churches-to-pay-for-abortion\/\">wasn\u2019t sympathetic<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Samuels, who <a href=\"http:\/\/nwlc.blogs.com\/womenstake\/jocelyn_samuels\/index.html\">previously worked<\/a> at the pro-abortion National Women\u2019s Law Center, <a href=\"https:\/\/adflegal.blob.core.windows.net\/web-content-dev\/docs\/default-source\/documents\/resources\/media-resources\/cdmhc-investigation-closure-letter.pdf?sfvrsn=2\">determined<\/a> that insurance policy holders weren\u2019t included. Thus, her office would be \u201cclosing this matter without further action.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Given how much this administration talks about protecting \u201cchoice\u201d and \u201cthe right to choose,\u201d their approach might be surprising. However, once you realize that \u201cchoice\u201d is just a euphemism for abortion, things get a whole lot clearer. As a friend of mine recently explained to me, these folks don&#8217;t value the &#8216;right to choose&#8217; of women who object:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">They are violating the rights of women like me who want access to doctors and to health insurance plans that don&#8217;t facilitate abortions. If I want basic healthcare, I am forced to become complicit in abortion.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Churches and others &#8212; like healthcare workers &#8212; shouldn\u2019t have to participate in abortion, and the House of Representatives <a href=\"\/news\/house-passes-conscience-protection-act-to-protect-health-workers-refuse-aid-abortions\/\">passed\u00a0legislation<\/a> on Wednesday in an effort to guarantee they won&#8217;t. If you agree with this, then <a href=\"http:\/\/www.capwiz.com\/nrlc\/home\/\">tell your lawmakers<\/a>. Because while \u201cdo what you\u2019re told\u201d might seem reasonable to those in the Obama administration, a lot of us feel differently.
