{"id":97160,"date":"2016-07-04T09:24:44","date_gmt":"2016-07-04T13:24:44","guid":{"rendered":"\/news\/?p=97160"},"modified":"2016-08-31T17:29:55","modified_gmt":"2016-08-31T21:29:55","slug":"lila-rose-unmask-lies-of-the-abortion-industry","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/lila-rose-unmask-lies-of-the-abortion-industry\/","title":{"rendered":"Lila Rose: Let&#8217;s unmask the lies of the abortion industry"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>On Saturday morning, Live Action President and Founder Lila Rose spoke to thousands at the Western Conservative Summit in Denver, Colorado. \u00a0She described the injustice that exists when we\u00a0deny the first human right to our most innocent and helpless human beings. &#8220;Without that right,&#8221; she explained, &#8220;all other rights are meaningless.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Too often, abortion is just a word &#8211; referred to as a medical procedure &#8211; without much meaning. \u201cHillary Clinton has probably never sat down and seen what an abortion procedure is,&#8221; Lila said. We say the word, but what <em>is it<\/em>? What is \u201cabortion\u201d? At the Summit, Lila gave meaning to abortion, showing the crowd a condensed version of Live Action&#8217;s &#8220;What is Human?&#8221; video. The crowd audibly responded throughout the video and loved little Toby, the star.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/video.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Fliveaction%2Fvideos%2F10152667724028728%2F&amp;show_text=0&amp;width=560\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Lila noted that, after <a href=\"\/news\/5-takeaways-scotus-abortion-decision\/\">the SCOTUS decision in\u00a0<em>Whole Women&#8217;s Health<\/em> <\/a>that ordered the state of Texas to lift health-related restrictions on abortion clinics, Hillary Clinton wrote about abortion, calling it a &#8220;woman&#8217;s health decision.&#8221; The Democratic presidential nominee opined that the right to abortion is\u00a0rock solid, among &#8220;the other values we hold dear.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>But, as the &#8220;What is Human?&#8221; video demonstrates, and as Lila reminded the crowd, rather than being &#8220;safe, legal and rare&#8221; &#8211; a favorite catchphrase of Clinton &#8211; abortion is\u00a0\u201cprevalent all over our country and certainly not safe for our littlest humans.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As we &#8220;care passionately about the littlest ones, the weakest ones in the country,&#8221; Lila said that we must ask, \u201cWhere is the heartbeat of the problem? What is the source of the problem?\u201d She asserted that the problem is rooted in lies that are constantly told to us and to our nation. In order to confront the injustice of abortion, Lila told the attendees it is essential for us to tackle and unmask these lies.<\/p>\n<p>One lie is that \u201cabortion is medically necessary.\u201d Lila discussed the <a href=\"\/news\/dublin-declaration-abortion-is-not-medically-necessary\/\">Dublin Declaration<\/a>.\u00a0\u201c1,000 medical professionals in Ireland penned the Dublin Declaration,&#8221; and\u00a0 \u201cI,000 medical professions are saying that [abortion] is never necessary\u2026we must, and we can care for them both.\u201d Through the facts laid out in this Declaration,\u00a0Ireland is\u201cfacing the pro-abortion lobby\u201d and, Lila said, the information provided is key for all of us \u201cto unmask the lies.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/ysl1tRnk-ig\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Lila reminded the crowd of the importance of diligently unmasking the lies for the upcoming generation. She noted that there are people who are taught to believe being pro-choice is smart; there are many who don&#8217;t think about the issue of abortion every day. We can &#8211; and we must &#8211; take on the lies for them and make the truth readily available.<\/p>\n<p>Lila also discussed how\u00a0Planned Parenthood operates its abortion business and roots it in lies. Over nearly a decade of <a href=\"https:\/\/liveaction.org\/projects\/\">investigating America&#8217;s abortion chain<\/a>, Live Action has gathered accurate information regarding how Planned Parenthood treats women in crisis and vulnerable young girls.\u00a0Over a dozen times, Lila said, Live Action investigators have found \u201cthe<a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/monalisa\/\"> cover-up of child sexual abuse<\/a>\u201d and the \u201ccoverup of <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/traffick\/\">human sex trafficking<\/a>.\u201d Planned Parenthood also participates in the \u00a0\u201cworldwide war on girls\u201d where there are \u201cover a hundred million missing girls,\u201d aborted simply based on their gender. Lila explained:\u00a0\u201cPlanned Parenthood who claims to speak for women, we\u2019ve observed them\u2026<a href=\"https:\/\/liveaction.org\/gendercide\/\">specifically saying they could arrange the abortion of a baby girl<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood spreads deeply rooted lies through its marketing and development programs. Lila said that &#8220;over $100 million a year&#8221; is spent here, and that a huge part of the chain&#8217;s mission is telling the lies that compel women to come to them.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to the <a href=\"https:\/\/liveaction.org\/projects\/\">brave stories of women who speak out<\/a>, Lila explained that we know &#8220;abortion doesn\u2019t empower, abortion doesn\u2019t free, but abortion leaves a lifetime of pain afterwards.\u201d Despite what Planned Parenthood would say, when a woman walks into an abortion facility, she \u201cwasn\u2019t feeling power<em>ful<\/em>, she was feeling power<em>less<\/em>.\u201d \u201cAbortions building off the suffering of women in their most vulnerable moments,&#8221; and this is a truth many don&#8217;t realize.<\/p>\n<p>Lila also hit on <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cnn.com\/2015\/01\/22\/opinion\/bachiochi-abortion-roe-v-wade\/\">the lies<\/a> liberal feminists like Hillary Clinton tell our society. They\u00a0say we need abortion, but, \u201cHow dare they say that to us and turn us against our own flesh and blood? <a href=\"\/news\/heres-why-pro-abortion-feminists-are-failing-women\/\">We demand better<\/a>. We <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/blog\/is-there-such-a-thing-as-a-pro-life-feminist\/\">deserve better as women<\/a>, as a society &#8211; to see our children not as a threat, but as a gift.\u201d Lila explained that &#8220;3,000 children are meeting this fate [abortion] in our country every day. It\u2019s done in the name of women\u2019s liberation, and we know <a href=\"\/news\/yes-can-feminist-pro-life\/\">it is the exact opposite<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/AbortionProcedures.com\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-88619\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-88619 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/levatino-ad-LAN.jpg\" alt=\"levatino-ad-LAN\" width=\"306\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/levatino-ad-LAN.jpg 306w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/levatino-ad-LAN-300x221.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 306px) 100vw, 306px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And even when the Supreme Court makes anti-life\u00a0decisions or pro-abortion politicians are elected, Lila reminded us that we still have an important job to do:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The Supreme Court represents and reflects the culture; politics represents and reflects the culture. The heart and soul battle of this country goes down to the individual heart and mind\u2026the operational beliefs they have, and reaching those people one heart and one soul at a time. Our fight really is in the trenches of the streets of this country to share the truth in love\u2026to share the dignity of the person that nothing can violate &#8211; that there\u2019s nothing more important than the dignity of the person, than the protection of the person.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>&#8220;Written in the human heart,&#8221; Lila told the crowd, &#8220;is respect for love, is love for life. We say, anybody can change. \u2026You might even have been an abortionist, but anybody can change.\u00a0The truth is what\u2019s going to set people free. The truth is what\u2019s going to give people hope.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>There is work to do in our society in many areas, and there is plenty of injustice to tackle and many lies to unmask. But, Lila said, we have a priority:\u00a0\u201cWe have to get it right about life. Then we can rebuild the society; then we can rebuild the family.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She closed with a quote from the Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. who firmly resisted &#8220;the lies being told about people of his race.&#8221;<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">I believe that unarmed truth and unconditional love will have the final word in reality.
