Let&#8217;s see if we can change that.<\/p>\n<p>To become educated about abortion, you have to learn what it actually entails. That&#8217;s why Live Action has produced a series of videos illustrating the four most common abortion procedures. Featuring medical animations, they&#8217;re narrated by Dr. Anthony Levatino.<\/p>\n<p>Dr. Levatino is a practicing obstetrician-gynecologist who&#8217;s performed over 1,200\u00a0abortions. In the clip\u00a0below, he\u00a0describes a second trimester\u00a0abortion procedure\u00a0known as dilation and evacuation, or D&amp;E.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/jgw4X7Dw_3k?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Levatino, who is now pro-life, explains how a preborn child gets removed from the womb.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">After the amniotic fluid is removed, the abortionist uses a sopher clamp \u2014 a grasping instrument with rows of sharp \u201cteeth\u201d \u2014 to grasp and pull the baby\u2019s arms and legs, tearing the limbs from the child\u2019s body.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The abortionist continues to grasp intestines, spine, heart, lungs, and any other limbs or body parts. The most difficult part of the procedure is usually finding, grasping and crushing the baby\u2019s head.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">After removing pieces of the child\u2019s skull, the abortionist uses a curette to scrape the uterus and remove the placenta and any remaining parts of the baby.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Other videos are available at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.abortionprocedures.com\/d-and-e\/\">AbortionProcedures.com<\/a>, as well as on Live Action\u2019s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/liveaction\/?fref=nf\">Facebook page<\/a>. Claiming that we can only keep babies out of \u201cthe system\u201d by dismembering them isn\u2019t just immoral\u2014it\u2019s also inaccurate. First off, your baby won\u2019t end up in foster care because you\u2019ve decided adoption is the best choice.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.childwelfare.gov\/pubPDFs\/foster.pdf\">According to<\/a> the Department of Health and Human Services, the median age for children entering the foster system in 2014 was 6.4. And it was typically because they were taken away from their families.<\/p>\n<p>And second, not placing your child for adoption won\u2019t help those kids: only 25\u00a0percent\u00a0of children in foster care are legally eligible for adoption at a given time\u2014the others see\u00a0returning to their families or independent living as their eventual goal. Meanwhile, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.npr.org\/2011\/11\/17\/142344354\/fewer-babies-available-for-adoption-by-u-s-parents\">long lines<\/a> of couples are waiting to adopt infants; there&#8217;s a website that can help you meet them.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/adoption.com\/\">Adoption.com<\/a> allows parents who\u2019ve already been approved by a licensed adoption agency to create a profile explaining what they have to offer. Birth moms can<a href=\"http:\/\/adoption.com\/profiles\"> sort through<\/a> prospective parents based on location, religious affiliation, family size, and other factors. The site also provides<a href=\"http:\/\/adoption.com\/wiki\/Pregnancy\"> pregnancy-related<\/a> information and<a href=\"http:\/\/adoption.com\/birth-parents\/birth-family-birth-mother-stories\/\"> first-hand accounts<\/a> from women who\u2019ve been through the adoption process.<\/p>\n<p>For more information on abortion vs. adoption, and for adoption stories, check out <a href=\"\/news\/abortion-vs-adoption-why-so-many-choose-the-first-and-what-we-can-do\/\">this article<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s nothing \u201cinvalid\u201d about choosing life.
