Cecile Richards wants you to think of a health care organization that has the best interests of American women at heart. The media often downplays their abortion involvement, and portrays them as a benevolent company that women can rely on when they&#8217;re desperate or scared or in trouble. Sadly, that couldn&#8217;t be further from the truth. Planned Parenthood is an organization that is concerned with abortion above all else, even if it means doing something as abhorrent as covering up sexual abuse.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In 2007, Lila Rose first exposed Planned Parenthood&#8217;s willingness to cover up sexual abuse and statutory rape. She <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/monalisa\/\">went undercover at clinics around the country<\/a>, posing as an underage girl who had become pregnant by an older man. Even when Rose claimed to be as young as 13, and impregnated by a man as old as 31, Planned Parenthood employees still didn&#8217;t report the abuse to police, as required by law. Instead, they encouraged Rose to lie about her age or counseled her on how best to obtain an abortion without her parents or police finding out.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/hTxsWZz9whg\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Sadly, there are numerous instances of this happening in real life as well.<\/p>\n<p>Danielle Cramer was a teenager who was kidnapped by 40-year-old Adam Gault. For over a year, he held her captive, and raped her. When she became pregnant, he took her to Planned Parenthood&#8230;where they asked no questions, performed the abortion, and <a href=\"http:\/\/articles.boston.com\/2007-08-02\/news\/29235368_1_yearlong-disappearance-kidnapping-charges-arrest-warrant\">gave her right back to Gault<\/a>. A clinic in Philadelphia was caught covering up <a href=\"\/news\/planned-parenthood-caught-covering-up-child-rape-in-philadelphia\/\">multiple cases of child rape<\/a>. In California, a 13-year-old girl was repeatedly subjected to sexual abuse at the hands of her stepfather. When she became pregnant, he took her to Planned Parenthood, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/2009\/01\/01\/state-3469\/\">where staffers did not report the abuse<\/a>, but performed the abortion and sent her back home with her stepfather. She continued to be the victim of abuse for another seven months. In San Francisco, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/2005\/12\/15\/state-1329\/\">an 11-year-old girl was raped<\/a>, and Planned Parenthood covered up the crime.<\/p>\n<p>Two separate Planned Parenthood clinics were sued, by two different teenage girls, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/2007\/05\/10\/state-2279\/\">for refusing to report that they were being abused<\/a>. One of the girls <em>told<\/em> staffers that she was being abused by her father &#8211; they did nothing, and she continued to be abused for another 18 months. The second girl sued because Planned Parenthood staffers performed an abortion on her without notifying her parents first &#8211; which is against Ohio state law. Planned Parenthood also failed to\u00a0report that she was a victim of rape.<\/p>\n<p>There are <a href=\"\/news\/planned-parenthood-covered-up-child-sexual-abuse\/\">incidences of sexual abuse cover-up<\/a> at Planned Parenthood facilities <a href=\"https:\/\/adflegal.org\/detailspages\/blog-details\/allianceedge\/2015\/09\/08\/new-adf-report-details-planned-parenthood's-history-of-failure-to-report-rape-of-young-girls\">all over the country<\/a>. But tragically, it doesn&#8217;t end there. Planned Parenthood is also willing to aid and abet <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/traffick\/\">child sex trafficking<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/0iMScbJJS2g\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/traffick\/\">Seven clinics in four different states<\/a> were found to be willing to participate in the exploitation of minor girls, supplying birth control, STD testing, and abortions to children who were being trafficked. And Planned Parenthood didn&#8217;t report any of it. Staffers even coached the traffickers on how best to avoid being detected by law enforcement, so that these young girls could remain in slavery. And like the sexual abuse cover-ups, this <a href=\"\/news\/forced-abortion-in-america-human-trafficking-victims\/\">happens in the real world also<\/a>, not just in Live Action investigations.<\/p>\n<p>Steven Wagner, former director of the Human Trafficking Program at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncregister.com\/daily-news\/kathleen-sebelius-gruesome-moral-calculus#ixzz2bJzTOkm3\">explains<\/a>\u00a0how forced abortions \u2013 a common occurrence in the trafficking world \u2013 are often a \u201cdeath sentence\u201d for the girls and women:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u201cIf someone is being trafficked \u2014 which is to say, under the domination of a pimp\/trafficker \u2014 she is by definition unable to provide informed consent to an abortion or to a regime of contraception. The victim has no voice in this decision. Indeed, providing such services to a victim of sexual trafficking benefits only the trafficker by getting the victim back out on the street and making money sooner.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The average age of entry into commercial sex exploitation is about 14. The average life expectancy of someone in commercial sexual exploitation is seven years. Start at 14, dead by 21. The mortality rate for someone in commercial sexual exploitation is 40 times higher than for a non-exploited person of the same age. Helping a victim return to exploitation more quickly by terminating a pregnancy increases the odds of death.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Sex traffickers use Planned Parenthood, and abortion, to keep girls enslaved. In addition to subjecting them to sexual slavery, the traffickers force these girls into abortions, the majority of which are unwanted, without giving them any kind of follow-up care or respite time after the procedures. Does Planned Parenthood care? No, they take their money, perform the procedure, and hand the girls right back to their captors.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/petition\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-68636 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DefundAd-400b.jpg\" alt=\"DefundAd-400b\" width=\"400\" height=\"170\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DefundAd-400b.jpg 400w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DefundAd-400b-300x128.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>When it comes to sex trafficking, Planned Parenthood&#8217;s biggest concern isn&#8217;t protecting these young girls; it&#8217;s their own bottom line. The abortion giant even\u00a0<a href=\"\/news\/planned-parenthood-puts-abortion-above-human-trafficking-victims-again\/\">opposes bills like this one that would protect victims of human trafficking<\/a> because it might lower their profits.<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood very clearly wants the public to see them a certain way, as a kind, noble group of health care providers who simply want to care for women at their most desperate and vulnerable.
