They test your\u00a0boundaries, break your stuff, and push your patience &#8212;\u00a0but that doesn\u2019t mean you would wish to go back in time and never have those children, or perhaps abort those children, does it?<\/p>\n<p>DirecTV thinks it does, and that\u2019s upsetting some viewers.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->In a new commercial featuring Jon Bon Jovi, DirecTV uses a couple with two children to announce their new feature \u2013 the ability to watch shows that aired up to 72 hours ago even if you forgot to record it. It\u2019s a great feature. However, one comparison they drew in an attempt to be funny, doesn\u2019t have people laughing.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou see we got the power to turn back time,\u201d sings Bon Jovi after the parents realize they missed a favorite show. \u201cThat show you missed, let\u2019s just go back and find. And let\u2019s go back and choose spicy instead of mild [referring to salsa]. And maybe reconsider having that second child.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>As he sings \u201csecond child\u201d a young boy coloring on the wall disappears. The parents look relieved.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/TA3mStfIdMI\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Are children really just material possessions to us, comparable to salsa? (And maybe the kid wouldn\u2019t be coloring on the walls and causing so much trouble if the parents were paying attention to him instead of watching TV. Just a thought.)<\/p>\n<p>Children are not invaluable line items in our day to day lives. They aren\u2019t a distraction from what\u2019s important. They are what\u2019s most important, and they are certainly much more important than a TV show. They are a parent\u2019s main vocation. We are raising adults, not just babysitting until our offspring finally go off to college.<\/p>\n<p>The abortion industry deceives people into believing that preborn humans have no value; that their lives are meaningless and replaceable; that you can have another baby at another time and be happy with that. \u00a0But the child who\u2019s being erased \u2013 whether on a commercial or in an abortion \u2013 will never be replaced because there will never be another him or her. Never anyone with that same DNA, the same hopes and dreams and likes and dislikes that that particular person had and would have.<\/p>\n<p>This commercial is just the most recent example of how little we as Americans value human life. We\u2019d much rather be wrapped up in our TV shows and social media than pay attention to our children \u2013 to the point where we want to wish our own children away. It\u2019s no wonder so many young women try to hide or kill their newborn babies. What\u2019s the difference between that baby and the one that was in their womb moments ago? And to DirecTV \u2013 what\u2019s the difference between that disposable baby in the womb and the 4 year old coloring on your walls?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.abortionprocedures.com\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-88619\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/levatino-ad-LAN.jpg\" alt=\"levatino-ad-LAN\" width=\"306\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/levatino-ad-LAN.jpg 306w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/levatino-ad-LAN-300x221.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 306px) 100vw, 306px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I\u2019d imagine that the people hurt most by this ad are the parents who have lost a child\u00a0&#8212; the ones who would go back in time to save their child and bring that child back to them; the ones who would give anything to have that child coloring on their walls.<\/p>\n<p>Every life matters. And parents need to step up and stop putting everything \u2013 all of their wants and desires \u2013 ahead of their children.
