On Wednesday, Robert Lewis Dear, the disturbed man accused of killing three people and wounding nine at the Colorado Springs Planned Parenthood last November, was deemed unfit<\/a> to stand trial.<\/p>\n

Dear was known for his outburst and antics in court,\u00a0and will be\u00a0transported to a state mental hospital in Pueblo, Colorado. After 90 days he will be re-evaluated to determine if he is mentally competent\u00a0stand trial, which Dear claims he is.<\/p>\n

He has also proclaimed himself guilty and wished to fire his attorney so as to represent himself. El Paso County Judge Gilbert Martinez ordered an evaluation in December. From Reuters<\/a>…<\/p>\n

Martinez cited the findings of two court-appointed state psychologists who evaluated Dear and concluded he was suffering from a psychotic delusional disorder that they said rendered him mentally unfit to stand trial.<\/p>\n

The judge said he was convinced that while Dear could comprehend the proceedings from a factual standpoint, his delusions and paranoia left him unable to meaningfully assist in his own defense.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

The pro-abortion movement, aided by the media, was\u00a0quick to blame the senseless violence on the pro-life movement, as Live Action News<\/a> has pointed out<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Now that Dear has been declared mentally incompetent, will the blame end? Don’t count on it.\u00a0Planned Parenthood sent out a simple tweet linking to an article from the Atlantic<\/a>, without much fanfare.<\/p>\n

Cosmopolitan, which frequently\u00a0publishes\u00a0pro-abortion articles before<\/a>, made note of the pro-life movement in its reporting<\/a> of Wednesday’s decision:<\/p>\n

\n

Previously, Dear admitted to murdering three people at the Planned Parenthood clinic\u00a0and injuring nine others\u00a0because he was\u00a0“upset with them performing abortions and the selling of baby parts<\/a>.” These ideas were\u00a0rooted in a smear campaign against Planned Parenthood from last year, in which various video clips\u00a0circulating around the internet purportedly\u00a0showed clinic staff selling fetal tissue.\u00a0These videos were later discredited, and the people behind them indicted on criminal charges.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Despite what Cosmopolitan claims here, the videos from the Center for Medical Progress have not been discredited<\/a> in any way. In fact, two separate forensic analyses, including Planned Parenthood’s, found no evidence of audio or video manipulation<\/a>\u00a0in the videos.\u00a0As for criminal charges, CMP’s David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt were charged with tampering with government documents (the creation of false IDs with which to enter abortion facilities) and attempting to purchase human fetal organs (which one cannot do unless someone is selling, and this attempt was made in the course of an undercover investigation into illegal practices). As previously noted<\/a>, a grand jury only hears evidence from the prosecution, not the defense. The indictments had nothing to do with the videos’ content.<\/p>\n

Cosmopolitan, and all the rest who would mark this tragedy in such a way as being about pro-life versus pro-choice, fail to account for the fact that the pro-life movement consistently decries such\u00a0senseless violence.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
