Kim was having quintuplets.\u00a0They had not used any fertility drugs, and so the chance of the pregnancy occurring was one in 55 million.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Ferinelizabeth.com.au%2Fposts%2F1010892185632418&amp;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"543\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Erin Elizabeth Photography&#8217;s\u00a0Facebook post also shares this quote from Kim:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">After my initial ultrasound I was told I could consider the selection method to give 2 babies the best chance in life&#8230; I watched a YouTube video on the procedure and I cried, I could never do that! Was I selfish for not giving two the chance of 100% survival?? All I know is that I already love them, and with every heartbeat I hear, I connect with them more.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Kim is not the first woman to be offered &#8220;the selection method,&#8221; where in this case three of her children would have been aborted for the sake of their two siblings. It&#8217;s even more heart-wrenching\u00a0that Kim would question if she was selfish or not for allowing all of her babies an equal\u00a0chance at life.<\/p>\n<p>Kim chose life for all five of her children, and her trust paid off. She\u00a0and Vaughn have added\u00a0Penelope, Beatrix, Allison, Tiffany and Keith to their family.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" style=\"border: none; overflow: hidden;\" src=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/plugins\/post.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2FFivebySurprise%2Fposts%2F1102722739769204%3A0&amp;width=500\" width=\"500\" height=\"509\" frameborder=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>While Kim and Vaughn are doing their best, caring for\u00a0seven children under the age of five isn&#8217;t easy. They need three cars just to travel. Kim&#8217;s family has set up a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gofundme.com\/surprisedbyfive\">Go Fund Me page<\/a>, which as of Monday morning has received almost $16,000 out of their $40,000 goal.<\/p>\n<p>Kim uses her <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/FivebySurprise\/\">&#8220;Surprised by Five&#8221; Facebook page<\/a> as her personal blog and acknowledged the news attention and Go Fund Me support\u00a0her family has received with heartfelt thanks on Mother&#8217;s Day. Kim and her family were <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/60Minutes9\/videos\/965895703479745\/\">featured on 60 Minutes Australia<\/a>, and have met with much love and admiration.<\/p>\n<p>The &#8220;selection method&#8221; Kim was offered is also known as &#8220;selective reduction&#8221; &#8211; an abortion procedure\u00a0<a href=\"\/news\/?s=%22selective+reduction%22\">often dressed up as <\/a>&#8220;pregnancy management.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The<a href=\"\/news\/new-england-journal-medicine-describes-piercing-unborn-babies-hearts-needles\/\"> method<\/a> used by <a href=\"\/news\/numbers-show-increasing-abortions-to-reduce-multiple-births\/\">Dr. Mark I. Evans<\/a> involves targeting one or more of the preborn children and inserting a needle of potassium chloride into his or her heart. Sometimes the babies move before succumbing to death and get the first needle in an arm or a leg, but once the needle enters a baby&#8217;s heart, it is fatal. The idea has alarmingly become <a href=\"\/news\/numbers-show-increasing-abortions-to-reduce-multiple-births\/\">a trend<\/a> over the past few years.<\/p>\n<p>While an induction abortion is nearly always used late in pregnancy, the method of piercing the baby&#8217;s heart with poison is almost identical to the method used in &#8220;selective reduction&#8221; abortions:<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/r5Af8vIym2o\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>A post-abortive father whose wife underwent the procedure <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/news\/after-ivf-we-became-pregnant-with-triplets-then-my-wife-had-two-of-the-babi\">recalls<\/a> how his\u00a0&#8220;soul carries a new scar.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Thankfully,\u00a0Kim and her family have been\u00a0spared this scar on their souls because she chose life for all five of her precious quintuplets.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Over Mother&#8217;s Day\u00a0weekend, Erin Elizabeth Photography recounted the story of Kim and her husband Vaughn, a\u00a0couple\u00a0with two daughters, ages two and four, who\u00a0decided to try to get\u00a0pregnant again in the hopes of conceiving a son.
