{"id":93623,"date":"2016-04-30T15:42:18","date_gmt":"2016-04-30T19:42:18","guid":{"rendered":"\/news\/?p=93623"},"modified":"2016-04-30T13:07:28","modified_gmt":"2016-04-30T17:07:28","slug":"nc-pregnancy-center-plans-move-next-to-abortion-facility","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/nc-pregnancy-center-plans-move-next-to-abortion-facility\/","title":{"rendered":"North Carolina pregnancy center plans to move next to abortion facility"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>The North Carolina pregnancy resource center <a href=\"http:\/\/www.handofhope.net\/\">A Hand of Hope<\/a> has <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wral.com\/anti-abortion-groups-seeks-to-move-next-to-raleigh-women-s-clinic\/15670787\/\">announced<\/a> it is moving its office next to the Raleigh abortion facility A Preferred Women&#8217;s Health Center.<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;We will be located right beside the abortion clinic, much like McDonald&#8217;s is across the street from Burger King,&#8221; Hand of Hope executive director Tonya Nelson Baker said. &#8220;It makes good business sense to go exactly where the people are that we&#8217;re trying to reach.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Hand of Hope operates the Your Choice Pregnancy Clinic, which <a href=\"http:\/\/yourchoicepregnancyclinic.com\/about-us\/free-services\">offers<\/a> free pregnancy and sexually-transmitted infection testing, limited ultrasound services, and <a href=\"http:\/\/yourchoicepregnancyclinic.com\/home\">information<\/a> on abortion, adoption, and parenting.<\/p>\n<p>Some area residents expressed fear the move would lead to an increase in pro-life protests outside the abortion facility, but Baker assured them that wouldn&#8217;t be the case: &#8220;Hand of Hope does not protest. It is against our policy and procedure to protest.&#8221; She also said they do not post people outside to lure people in.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/AbortionProcedures.com\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-88619\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/levatino-ad-LAN.jpg\" alt=\"levatino-ad-LAN\" width=\"306\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/levatino-ad-LAN.jpg 306w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/levatino-ad-LAN-300x221.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 306px) 100vw, 306px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The West Raleigh Citizens Advisory Council has voted 30-17 in favor of allowing the home Hand of Hope wants to be rezoned for office space. It now has to go before the Planning Commission and City Council.<\/p>\n<p>A Preferred Women&#8217;s Health Center did not comment on their new pro-life
