While pro-abortion citizens of the Western world may view this activism as liberation, some natives of the target nations find it to be neo-colonization.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->In an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/news\/watch-african-woman-schools-un-official-on-why-pushing-abortion-is-neo-colo\">exchange<\/a> at the United Nations last month, Danish socialist Member of Parliament Mette Gjerskov defended the actions of Western governments and organizations pressuring African nations to liberalize abortion laws. Gjerskov argued that creating abortion rights would help African nations avoid a new form of colonization.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/levatino-ad-LAN.jpg\" alt=\"levatino-ad-LAN\" width=\"306\" height=\"225\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-88619\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/levatino-ad-LAN.jpg 306w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/levatino-ad-LAN-300x221.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 306px) 100vw, 306px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>But Obianuju Ekeocha, founder of Culture of Life Africa and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.catholic.org\/news\/national\/story.php?id=47264\">vocal opponent of the pro-birth control Western mindset<\/a>, disagreed with the European politician&#8217;s solution for Africa. Ekeocha explained\u00a0that Ibo, her native language,\u00a0and \u201cmost African languages, don\u2019t even have a way of phrasing having an abortion that means anything good.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMost of the African communities actually believe by their traditions and their cultural standards that abortion is a direct attack on human life,\u201d said Ekeocha. She went on to denounce Europeans forcing abortion on Africa, claiming it is equivalent to telling an African woman \u201cwhat her parents, her grandparents, her ancestors taught her is actually wrong.
