But in this case, Planned Parenthood Action Fund claimed that the Center for Medical Progress&#8217;s undercover videos featuring Planned Parenthood&#8217;s own employees were &#8220;faked criminal videos.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\">Since faked criminal videos hit, politicians in 24 states have tried to cut patients&#39; access to Planned Parenthood. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/P5fO652lqy\">pic.twitter.com\/P5fO652lqy<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Planned Parenthood (@PPact) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PPact\/status\/723921395214733315\">April 23, 2016<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p>Some Twitter users weren&#8217;t having any of\u00a0it.\u00a0According to <a href=\"http:\/\/twitchy.com\/2016\/04\/24\/straight-up-lying-planned-parenthoods-latest-spin-on-videos-sets-gold-standard-for-shameless-denial\/\">Twitchy<\/a>&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">In January, a Texas grand jury\u00a0indicted activists\u00a0who exposed Planned Parenthood\u2019s fetal organ trafficking. The government\u2019s \u201cindict the messenger\u201d approach in these cases was of course applauded by Planned Parenthood, which is pushing more lies as a result.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The Federalist&#8217;s Mollie Hemingway tweeted in response:<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PPact\">@PPact<\/a> your own audit of the videos admitted that 100% of what <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PPact\">@ppact<\/a> employees said in videos was real.<\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Mollie (@MZHemingway) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MZHemingway\/status\/724030322241753088\">April 24, 2016<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p>Mollie is right.\u00a0As I <a href=\"\/news\/forensic-analysis-finds-full-planned-parenthood-videos-authentic\/\">reported<\/a> in September 2015, Planned Parenthood hired Fusion GPS, known to be &#8220;an opposition research firm with ties to the Democratic party\u00a0and&#8230;\u00a0a history of harassing socially conservative Republican donors, possibly on behalf of the Obama campaign.&#8221; But in their report on the videos, the firm found\u00a0&#8220;no evidence that the anti-abortion group behind the attack made up dialogue,&#8221; and <em>no<\/em> &#8220;widespread evidence of substantive video manipulation.&#8221; So what did Planned Parenthood do in response? What they always do: deny the facts, and get the media to go along with the ruse. (Politico&#8217;s headline even\u00a0stated that Fusion&#8217;s report found evidence of manipulation, when, in fact, it did not.)<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/petition\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-84611 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/NewDefundAd3.jpg\" alt=\"NewDefundAd3\" width=\"400\" height=\"170\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/NewDefundAd3.jpg 400w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/NewDefundAd3-300x128.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>But Fusion GPS wasn&#8217;t the only firm that found no manipulation. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adflegal.org\/content\/docs\/ADF_Forensic_Analysis_Report-09282015.pdf\">Coalfire Systems<\/a>, a cybersecurity and forensic analysis company hired by Alliance Defending Freedom, analyzed all ten (at the time) full footage videos and found that the videos were &#8220;authentic and show no evidence of manipulation or editing.&#8221; In fact, Casey Mattox, ADF&#8217;s senior counsel, had some words in response to Planned Parenthood Action Fund&#8217;s claim about the videos on Twitter:<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\">\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" data-width=\"550\">\n<p lang=\"en\" dir=\"ltr\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PPact\">@PPact<\/a> Not &quot;faked&quot;. And you know that. <a href=\"https:\/\/t.co\/R2KsNwYbti\">https:\/\/t.co\/R2KsNwYbti<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&mdash; Casey Mattox (@CaseyMattox_) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/CaseyMattox_\/status\/723925506232598528\">April 23, 2016<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><script async src=\"\/\/platform.twitter.com\/widgets.js\" charset=\"utf-8\"><\/script><\/div>\n<p>Yes. They <em>do<\/em> know that.\u00a0In fact, Cecile Richards herself\u00a0<a href=\"\/news\/planned-parenthood-president-releases-video-defending\/\">apologized for the &#8220;tone&#8221;<\/a>\u00a0used by Planned Parenthood senior medical director Dr. Deborah Nucatola (in the first of CMP&#8217;s undercover videos) while discussing\u00a0how she is careful to only &#8220;crush&#8221; above\u00a0and below the abdomen of a child whom she is aborting, to best preserve his or her organs for harvesting. Note that Richards apologized not\u00a0for Nucatola&#8217;s\u00a0actions\u00a0but\u00a0for her &#8220;tone&#8221; in casualness of speech. If that video was &#8220;faked,&#8221; and that&#8217;s not really Dr. Nucatola, and she didn&#8217;t say what she clearly appears to have said, then why the apology?<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood and its friends in the media have also been pretending that CMP&#8217;s David Daleiden and Sandra Merritt were indicted by a Texas grand jury\u00a0for faking videos &#8211; but that&#8217;s nowhere close to the truth. Daleiden and Merritt were indicted for tampering with government documents (likely faked driver&#8217;s\u00a0licenses\u00a0for\u00a0the facilities they infiltrated), and for&#8230; get this&#8230; <em>attempting to buy fetal body parts<\/em> &#8212; which one would have to pretend to do in order to catch criminals who are willing to sell. As Live Action News&#8217; Cassy Fiano <a href=\"\/news\/breaking-harris-county-grand-jury-indicts-center-medical-progress-investigators\/\">noted<\/a>\u00a0(emphasis mine):<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">A grand jury is formed of ordinary citizens that are presented \u00a0evidence and testimony from the <strong>prosecutor alone<\/strong> to form their theory of a case <strong>without any input from the defense<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">From that information, the jury determines if there is enough probable cause to move the case forward in the judicial process. \u00a0<strong>The grand jury does not determine guilt or innocence<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>But none of that matters to Planned Parenthood or its <a href=\"\/news\/planned-parenthood-owns-congressional-committee-investigating-it\/\">well-paid cronies on Capitol Hill<\/a> or in the media. They know that propaganda works, and money talks.<\/p>\n<p>They also know that if you repeat a lie loudly enough and long enough, people will start to believe it &#8211; all evidence to the contrary. So, while friends of Planned Parenthood attempt to compare the Center for Medical Progress videos and evidence to conspiracies about the moon landing, pro-lifers have to continue to counter the spin\u00a0to those who would listen.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Planned Parenthood has been called out on social media for its deception and spin when it comes to&#8230; well, pretty much everything.
