According to the pro-abortion Guttmacher Institute, the number of abortion clinics in the United States has declined<\/a> by nearly\u00a040%, after peaking in 1982. Recent years have seen abortion clinics continue to shut their doors after the passing of pro-life laws around the nation. As clinics continue to close, as\u00a0abortion rates continue to drop<\/a>, and as organizations such as Planned Parenthood continue to be exposed, times are looking tough for big business abortion.<\/p>\n

But Medical Students for Choice is fighting to continue big business abortion, with the help of private funding including grants from the Rockefeller Family Fund, a non-profit group that, according to their website<\/a>,\u00a0seeks to find the leverage points of\u00a0key societal and political\u00a0issues and which “seeks to improve the quality of life for working women and their families.” Sadly, it appears that\u00a0the group views abortion as a way to help achieve this goal.<\/p>\n

According to Reuters<\/a>, the Rockefeller Family Fund\u00a0sent 137\u00a0students for abortion training at its Abortion Training Institute, more than twice as many as in 2010.\u00a0 The Kenneth J. Ryan Residency Training Program has also increased abortion training around the country.<\/p>\n

It should come as no\u00a0surprise where Planned Parenthood, the nation’s biggest abortion business, stands on such training programs. According to the New York Times<\/a>, Lori Carpentier, who runs Planned Parenthood clinics in Michigan, applauded the future abortionists as\u00a0a “new generation of activist doctors” who\u00a0“choose to do terminations of pregnancies because it is a deeply held and passionate belief that women should have access to care.”<\/p>\n

But unfortunately for Planned Parenthood, the effect of increased abortion training may not greatly increase their profit margin. According to Reuters, “… their impact is limited. Most of the doctors end up working near where they train, not in several Southern and Midwestern states” where pro-life laws have been recently enacted.<\/p>\n

The current “generation of activist doctors”\u00a0is aging, and numbers are dwindling because of the emotional toll<\/a> abortion takes on the abortionists themselves, because the medical profession looks down on<\/a> abortionists, and because the procedure itself is gruesome<\/a>, especially when it’s late-term. … [S]ome of these students become\u00a0so uncomfortable with the gruesome nature of abortion procedures they change their career plans. Others do become abortionists, but retain some moral qualms about what they are doing. This happens particularly when students\u00a0are exposed to the D&E, or dilation and evacuation, abortion procedure….<\/p>\n

The contrast between the valuable \u201cwanted\u201d babies and the disposable \u201cunwanted\u201d babies is vividly shown when doctors fight to save infants who are the same age as the infants they kill in another part of the hospital. The only difference between a baby doctors are struggling to save and a baby doctors are trying to kill is the opinion of the baby\u2019s mother. If she believes her child\u2019s life is valuable, it is. If she doesn\u2019t, and wants her baby dead, the baby\u2019s life is expendable and he can be legally killed. This strange situation<\/a>\u00a0leads to moral\u00a0confusion<\/a>. Abortionists have\u00a0spoken about<\/a>\u00a0the\u00a0irony of the situation elsewhere.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
