It also requires ultrasounds before abortions, admitting privileges for abortionists, and requires that aborted babies be either buried or cremated. So they\u2019ve come up with a <a href=\"http:\/\/fox59.com\/2016\/04\/01\/periods-for-pence-urges-women-to-call-pence-discuss-menstrual-cycle-in-protest-of-abortion-bill\/\">novel way<\/a> of expressing their displeasure\u2014and by \u201cnovel,\u201d I of course mean gross, juvenile, and ignorant&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">Fertilized eggs can be expelled during a woman&#8217;s period without a woman even knowing that she might have had the potential blastocyst in her. Therefore, any period could potentially be a miscarriage without knowledge. I would certainly hate for any of my fellow Hoosier women to be at risk of penalty if they do not &#8220;properly dispose&#8221; of this or report it. Just to cover our bases, perhaps we should make sure to contact Governor Pence&#8217;s office to report our periods. We wouldn&#8217;t want him thinking that THOUSANDS OF HOOSIER WOMEN A DAY are trying to hide anything, would we? We can ALL CALL HIM AT 317-232-4567. REPORT THOSE PERIODS! You should really let him know, since he&#8217;s so concerned. It will only take a few minutes of your day, but it lets them face an undue and unjust burden, for a change!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>This bright idea comes from an anonymous pro-abortion activist in the state who\u2019s started the Facebook page <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/Periods-for-Pence-565501973618299\/?fref=nf\">Periods for Pence<\/a>, which has amassed almost 25,000 likes since March 28.<\/p>\n<p>Predictably, the pro-abortion media thinks this is a hoot:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Prachi Gupta, Cosmopolitan: \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.cosmopolitan.com\/politics\/news\/a56214\/periods-for-pence-women-abortion\/\">hilarious<\/a>\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Claire Lampen, News Mic: \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/mic.com\/articles\/139826\/periods-for-pence-is-the-best-response-to-indiana-s-restrictive-abortion-law-hb-1337#.gJE04wV08\">the best response<\/a>\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Susan Rinkunas, NY Mag: \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/nymag.com\/thecut\/2016\/04\/indiana-women-calling-governor-mike-pence-about-their-periods.html\">the best new kind of trolling<\/a>\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Arturo Garcia, Raw Story: also \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.rawstory.com\/2016\/03\/women-hilariously-troll-indiana-gov-mike-pence-by-phone-to-protest-anti-abortion-law\/\">hilarious<\/a>\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Cristen Conger, Refinery 29: \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.refinery29.com\/2016\/04\/107464\/indiana-women-periods-for-pence\">it might prove harder for the Indiana government to hang up on women&#8217;s reproductive rights and long-term health<\/a>.\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Paul Phillips, Reverb Press: \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/reverbpress.com\/sexes\/women\/pissed-off-women-magnificently-troll-anti-choice-governor-periods-pence\/\">magnificent<\/a>\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Sophia Tesfaye, Salon: \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.refinery29.com\/2016\/04\/107464\/indiana-women-periods-for-pence\">Who says trolling can&#8217;t be effective<\/a>?\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Lucy Tiven, ATTN: \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/www.attn.com\/stories\/7028\/women-trolling-indiana-gov-anti-abortion-law\">hilarious<\/a>\u201d (again), \u201ccreative,\u201d \u201cfun,\u201d and \u201cserious\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Jennifer Gerson Uffalussy, Fusion: \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/fusion.net\/story\/286941\/periods-for-pence-indiana-women-calling-governor\/\">well played<\/a>\u201d<\/li>\n<li>Conover, Freak Out Nation: \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/freakoutnation.com\/2016\/04\/gov-mike-pence-is-being-trolled-hard-by-women-in-protest-of-anti-abortion-law-video\/\">a thing of beauty<\/a>\u201d<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Maturity, thy name is pro-abort. After watching pro-abortion activists\u00a0<a href=\"\/news\/planned-parenthood-activists-throw-condoms-pro-life-carly-fiorina\/\">throw condoms<\/a> at pro-lifers, protest with <a href=\"\/news\/the-vaginas-are-coming-students-for-life-vs-giant-crotch-photos\/\">giant vagina photos<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/twitchy.com\/2012\/08\/28\/empowerment-mockfest-as-code-pink-members-reduce-women-to-vaginas-at-gop-convention\/\">costumes<\/a>, hysterically whine about <a href=\"\/news\/naral-spent-super-bowl-50-complaining-babies\/\">totally apolitical commercials featuring pregnancy<\/a>, and <a href=\"\/news\/touch-pro-abortion-advocates-celebrate-abortion\/\">promote abortion<\/a> with everything from \u201cTaco and Beer challenges\u201d to \u201cRock and Roe,\u201d it seems their side is suffering from a movement-wide absence of class and self-awareness. If a pro-lifer were to go incognito and stage the most offensive, nonsensical, and embarrassing bit of pro-abortion \u201cactivism\u201d he could think of, I\u2019m not sure it would be embraced one bit less enthusiastically.<\/p>\n<p>To the extent that they\u2019re pretending this push has any message deeper than \u201cwe have arrested development\u201d it would seem to be summarized by Cosmopolitan&#8217;s Gupta:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\">Pence and other anti-abortion lawmakers seem to be so concerned about women&#8217;s reproductive health and what&#8217;s going on with a woman&#8217;s body that they&#8217;d love to hear more stories about menstruation, right?<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/AbortionProcedures.com\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-88619\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/levatino-ad-LAN.jpg\" alt=\"levatino-ad-LAN\" width=\"306\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/levatino-ad-LAN.jpg 306w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/levatino-ad-LAN-300x221.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 306px) 100vw, 306px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>You know, I\u2019m beginning to think the reason abortion apologists\u00a0spend so much of their time amusing each other with publicity stunts and stale narratives is because they know they would lose actual arguments. How does Periods for Pence utterly fail to say anything meaningful about the law? Let us count the ways:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>There is nothing even remotely medical about whether race and gender are legitimate criteria for abortion. If one of those is your reason for aborting when you\u2019d happily carry a white boy to term, the decision isn\u2019t about your health at all. You\u2019re just a racist or a sexist.<\/li>\n<li>Genetic abnormalities might seem a little more relevant, but again we\u2019re not talking about any medical implications of the pregnancy itself. If you decide you don\u2019t want the cost or the hardship of raising a <a href=\"\/news\/5-things-know-syndrome-world-syndrome-day\/\">child with Down Syndrome<\/a>, you\u2019re making an economic or lifestyle decision. So don\u2019t hide it behind claims that it\u2019s impeding on your healthcare.<\/li>\n<li>Abortion advocates\u00a0endlessly repeat that politicians are meddling in medicine by legislating admitting privileges, but never acknowledge that <a href=\"\/news\/32-medical-societies-support-admitting-privileges-abortion-advocates-fighting\/\">dozens of leading medical groups<\/a> deemed admitting privileges to be clear necessities before pro-aborts politicized the matter. We\u2019re the ones standing with sound medicine, not you.<\/li>\n<li>Requiring humane handling of dead babies\u2019 remains also in no way interferes with a woman\u2019s health\u2014which opponents should have gleaned from the tiny detail that you can\u2019t bury a baby until after the abortion\u2019s already happened. Oh, and the \u201crisk of penalty\u201d PFP mentions is bogus because the <a href=\"https:\/\/iga.in.gov\/legislative\/2016\/bills\/house\/1337#document-51b52d50\">bill<\/a> requires the abortionist, not the mother, to handle it unless <em>the mother herself chooses an alternate means of burial<\/em>.<\/li>\n<li>There is <a href=\"\/news\/abortions-decline-planned-parenthood-cant-honestly-deny-ultrasounds-power\/\">no credible argument<\/a> against requiring ultrasounds. They provide key information that the abortion industry tries to hide from its patients, they make an enormous difference to women not already certain of their decision, they don\u2019t impose new costs because most abortionists already perform them without showing mothers the images, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/iga.in.gov\/legislative\/2016\/bills\/house\/1337#document-51b52d50\">bill<\/a> doesn\u2019t even force women to look at them if they don\u2019t want to.<\/li>\n<li>Finally, there\u2019s the talking point about miscarriages, which is just <em>stupid<\/em>. Nobody wants to regulate miscarriages. Nobody even remotely suggested monitoring periods. We somehow manage to investigate and prosecute murders of born people without epidemics of people persecuted over deaths by natural causes, so there\u2019s no reason to think protecting preborn people from murder would be any different.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>That\u2019s the bottom line here: abortion fans\u00a0are so endlessly, stubbornly desperate to pretend they\u2019re sticking up for something other than murder that there is absolutely nothing too absurd for them to say in defense of that illusion. They know full well that, as Ben Shapiro <a href=\"\/news\/ben-shapiro-reveals-sorry-state-of-pro-abortion-college-students-logic\/\">explained<\/a> recently, we don&#8217;t care what they do with their bodies; just the other bodies they want to kill.<\/p>\n<p>Periods for Pence is what happens when someone is angry about something, but can\u2019t articulate why in a thoughtful way because their anger comes from greed, not principle.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Pro-abortion activists aren\u2019t taking too kindly to Governor Mike Pence signing Indiana\u2019s new law\u00a0which bans abortions for\u00a0genetic abnormalities, race, or sex.
