Wade<\/em> allowed abortion on demand.\u00a0 But even before that, mothers and fathers from different cultures willingly killed their children\u2014some born and some unborn\u2014based on life\u2019s hard situations.\u00a0 For example, centuries ago, children were sacrificed to pacify a god\u2019s anger, supposedly demonstrated through a drought, famine, or natural disaster.\u00a0 Roman parents sometimes killed their children after birth if they were unwanted.\u00a0 Mothers in many countries self-aborted when they discovered they were pregnant during a family financial crisis.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignleft size-full wp-image-9120\" style=\"margin: 25px;\" title=\"pregnant-woman\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/12\/pregnant-woman.jpg\" width=\"240\" height=\"213\" \/>My question is this:\u00a0 why is it so easy to kill our children when we don\u2019t like how life is treating us?\u00a0 Why are their deaths the answer to our problems?<\/p>\n<p>According to an <a title=\"article at Salon.com\" href=\"http:\/\/www.salon.com\/2011\/12\/21\/why_women_have_second_trimester_abortions\/singleton\/\">article at Salon.com<\/a>, women <em>need <\/em>(yes NEED) late-term abortions.\u00a0 Even this pro-abortion site doesn\u2019t disagree that second trimester babies can suck their thumbs and act in an obviously human way.\u00a0 (Hmm\u2026maybe because they <em>are<\/em> human.)\u00a0 However, Susan Schewel, executive director of a women\u2019s abortion fund in Pennsylvania, tries to explain why women still need to abort their very human babies:\u00a0 \u201cThey have so many balls in the air, and more pressing financial needs\u2014for example, housing.\u00a0 They just can\u2019t manage everything.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Right.\u00a0 The answer for lacking the funds for housing is killing your child.\u00a0 That\u2019s definitely the way to raise money for rent.\u00a0 Wouldn\u2019t a more realistic answer for women be to seek out government services for housing while they get off their feet?\u00a0 To go to a pregnancy center that gives you free baby supplies?\u00a0 Or to live with family or friends?\u00a0 Perhaps to stay at a women\u2019s shelter for a time?\u00a0 I\u2019m not understanding why killing is the end-all answer here.<\/p>\n<p>What about adoption?\u00a0 Granted, it may be difficult for a woman to pay for a child for eighteen years if she doesn\u2019t have help.\u00a0 (Trust me, though, there are a very high number of strong women who have done just that.) \u00a0However, anyone can find enough help to pay for nine months of pregnancy.\u00a0 Many adoptive couples will even pay for all the medical bills, maternity clothes, prenatal vitamins, and more.\u00a0 Killing is certainly not the answer.\u00a0 It never is, but especially not in a world where mothers can hand-pick their baby\u2019s parents.\u00a0 That is certainly a kinder option.\u00a0 Why isn\u2019t this obvious?<\/p>\n<p>Perhaps Susan Schewel\u2019s abortion fund can explain why it\u2019s just abortions they fund.\u00a0 Go to their website, and they give you the option of donating for someone else\u2019s abortion.\u00a0 Why don\u2019t they raise funds for adoptions?\u00a0 What about for women\u2019s housing money, if that\u2019s what women really need?<\/p>\n<p>Why don\u2019t groups who claim to care about women actually give women what they need instead of giving them an abortion?\u00a0 How cruel is it to say, as Mrs. Schewel does\u2014here, you need money for housing?\u00a0 You can\u2019t manage everything?\u00a0 Let me help you kill your child.\u00a0 Death always solves more problems.<\/p>\n<p>Cruel.\u00a0 Devastatingly cruel and absolutely wrong.\u00a0 Death creates its own host of haunting problems.\u00a0 Killing an innocent child is never the answer that struggling women need.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Since when has killing a person become the answer to life\u2019s less-than-ideal circumstances?\u00a0 Definitely since Roe v.
