The relentless effort to devalue life could explain why a 35-year-old single mother in Somervell County Texas thought she had the right to choose to place her little 2-year-old baby girl in the family oven.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->No one knows for sure what Tasha Shontell Hatcher was thinking, or what her motivation was for burning her baby in the stove. Thankfully, as the child was being roasted alive, for some reason, Hatcher confessed to witnesses who quickly called the authorities.<\/p>\n<p>As a result, shortly before midnight on St. Patrick\u2019s Day, the Sheriff\u2019s Department rescued the little girl who was immediately taken by air ambulance to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas to be treated for second and third-degree burns. From there, the child was airlifted to a regional burn center at Parkland Hospital in Dallas where she remains sedated.<\/p>\n<p>For burning a baby a stove, <a href=\"http:\/\/pix11.com\/2016\/03\/20\/mother-accused-of-burning-toddler-by-putting-her-in-oven\/\">Miss Hatcher<\/a> is being held in Somervell County Jail after being charged with inflicting \u201cserious bodily harm to a child,\u201d which is a first-degree felony. After being arraigned on Saturday, Hatcher is being held on a $300,000 bond.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, Somervell deputies, Texas Rangers, and Child Protective Services are investigating the case.\u00a0 A spokeswoman from CPS said that when the severely burned child is discharged from the hospital she would be placed in foster care.<\/p>\n<p>Burning children alive is nothing new. It started in Old Testament days\u00a0with the sacrificing of infants\u00a0to the <a href=\"http:\/\/biblehub.com\/leviticus\/18-21.htm\">fire-god Molech<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Today, there are\u00a0mothers who chose to forgo the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mccl.org\/saline-abortion-cruel-and-dangerous.html\">saline infusion abortion<\/a> (which burns preborn children both inside and out) and then, somewhere along the line, apparently change their minds and decide it\u2019s acceptable to cook children alive outside of the womb.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.abortionprocedures.com\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-88733\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/levatino-ad-LAN-1.jpg\" alt=\"levatino-ad-LAN\" width=\"366\" height=\"269\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/levatino-ad-LAN-1.jpg 600w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/levatino-ad-LAN-1-300x221.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 366px) 100vw, 366px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Last December,\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailymail.co.uk\/news\/article-3366691\/Mother-killed-one-month-old-baby-putting-microwave-five-minutes-sentenced-life-prison.html\">34-year-old Ka Yang<\/a> was convicted of first-degree murder in the death of her one-month-old daughter Mirabelle Thao-Lo.\u00a0According to prosecutors, in 2011, Mirabelle was placed along with her pacifier into the microwave by her mother for the sin of being \u201cirritable and fussy and holding [mom] back from work\u201d at an architectural firm.<\/p>\n<p>And so, if the thought of a mother committing the crime of burning her baby alive horrifies America, it\u2019s probably because it\u2019s happening right before our eyes.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, behind closed doors, all across America, society largely accepts <a href=\"\/news\/58-million-babies-have-been-legally-in-the-u-s-killed-since-roe-v-wade\/\">3,000 babies a day losing their lives<\/a> during an equally horrifying act called abortion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Currently, America is a society that continues make the case for abortion by insisting that some lives have less value than others.
