{"id":8968,"date":"2011-12-21T02:56:03","date_gmt":"2011-12-21T07:56:03","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/blog\/?p=8968"},"modified":"2013-04-02T17:56:28","modified_gmt":"2013-04-02T21:56:28","slug":"planned-parenthoods-lesson-in-money-loss","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthoods-lesson-in-money-loss\/","title":{"rendered":"Planned Parenthood&#8217;s lesson in money loss"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright  wp-image-6208\" style=\"margin: 15px;\" title=\"money\" alt=\"\" src=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/money.jpg\" width=\"196\" height=\"196\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood seems to be on a crash course of money loss.\u00a0 The abortion giant is about to learn what it\u2019s like to operate without quite so many taxpayer dollars.\u00a0 Several states\u2014including Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, Kansas, and Texas\u2014 have been pulling grants and other state money from Planned Parenthood in recent days.<\/p>\n<p>Take, for example, the <a title=\"actions of Wisconsin's GOP Governor Scott Walker.\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/news\/planned-parenthood-loses-130000-state-contract-in-wisconsin\" target=\"_blank\">actions of Wisconsin\u2019s GOP Governor Scott Walker.<\/a>\u00a0 Governor Walker stripped Planned Parenthood of their funding from a $130,000 state program that provides low-income women with cancer screenings.\u00a0 Predictably, Planned Parenthood was outraged, and \u201cdemanded\u201d to know how the \u201chealth or lives of women\u201d would be cared for.\u00a0 How in the world would women ever be safeguarded without their Great Protector, Planned Parenthood?<\/p>\n<p>While Planned Parenthood appears to believe they\u2019re the only answer that women have, they need to wake up to reality.\u00a0 As Governor Walker informed them, \u201cThe [Well Woman] program is still in place.\u00a0 There are many clinics that are not as controversial as Planned Parenthood, and our goal was to make sure low-income women had access to those sorts of screenings from other providers around the state that don\u2019t carry the controversy you get with Planned Parenthood.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Score one for the truth.\u00a0 Planned Parenthood\u2019s real motivation in going after state money for \u201cservices\u201d is so that they have extra money for their abortion business.\u00a0 They\u2019d really like to continue their proven track record of being a \u201cfor-profit non-profit\u201d.\u00a0 Raking in over $60 million in profits a year sounds pretty good if you ask Cecile Richards.<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood in Michigan also just <a title=\"lost a $200,000 taxpayer funded grant.\" href=\"http:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/2011\/12\/20\/planned-parenthood-loses-200k-tax-funded-grant-in-michigan\/\" target=\"_blank\">lost a $200,000 taxpayer funded grant.<\/a>\u00a0 They were planning on receiving funds from the state to carpet, decorate, and otherwise set up a building they had already purchased in Auburn Hills.\u00a0 However, one of Planned Parenthood\u2019s many lies were found out just in time.<\/p>\n<p>They were apparently aware of a deed restriction placed on the building by Comfort Inn, the previous owner.\u00a0 Comfort Inn had restricted the property so that it could not be used as an abortion clinic.\u00a0 However, Planned Parenthood employed deception as usual, never mentioning their name in the deal-making process or that they planned to do abortions at the clinic.\u00a0 Instead, they convinced the owners to agree to a \u201cmedical clinic\u201d forming in the empty building.\u00a0 Thankfully, Planned Parenthood\u2019s lies were discovered and they were rightfully stripped of state funding.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Planned Parenthood seems to be on a crash course of money loss.\u00a0 The abortion giant is about to learn what it\u2019s like to operate without quite so many taxpayer dollars.\u00a0 Several states\u2014including Indiana, Wisconsin, Michigan, North Carolina, Kansas, and Texas\u2014 have been pulling grants and other state money from Planned Parenthood in recent days.
