The administration of Republican Governor Matt Bevin has <a href=\"\/news\/kentucky-governor-sues-planned-parenthood-performing-illegal-abortions\/\">filed a lawsuit<\/a> against Planned Parenthood for allegedly performing abortions at a facility that lacked the proper licensing to do so.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Thomas Clay, an attorney for Planned Parenthood, claims that the University made the decision not because of his organization&#8217;s deficient medical practices, but because state officials placed &#8220;incredible pressure&#8221; on them to do so, including a threatened loss of state funding.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/liveaction.org\/petition\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-84611\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/NewDefundAd3.jpg\" alt=\"NewDefundAd3\" width=\"400\" height=\"170\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/NewDefundAd3.jpg 400w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/NewDefundAd3-300x128.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>However, a Bevin spokesman vehemently denies the allegation, saying, &#8220;Planned Parenthood is making baseless and irresponsible accusations to distract from the undeniable fact that they performed unlicensed abortions without the essential agreements in place to protect women\u2019s health.
