KentuckyOne Health, which operates hospitals across the state including the University of Louisville Hospital, previously had an agreement with Planned Parenthood involving the transfer of patients from the abortion facility when complications arise from abortion.<\/p>\n<p>Abortion advocates charge KentuckyOne with caving to pressure, but distancing itself from Planned Parenthood may be the best option for KentuckyOne, which\u00a0is not the first\u00a0health care organization\u00a0to cut ties with Planned Parenthood in the wake of the abortion giant&#8217;s recent scandal.<\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood&#8217;s unethical behavior has resulted in several institutions backing away from the abortion group.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In September 2015, Missouri University Health Care <a href=\"http:\/\/info.umkc.edu\/unews\/mu-drops-planned-parenthood\/\" target=\"_blank\">cut ties <\/a>with Planned Parenthood, revoking refer and follow privileges for the organization.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/liveaction.org\/petition\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-84611\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/NewDefundAd3.jpg\" alt=\"NewDefundAd3\" width=\"400\" height=\"170\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/NewDefundAd3.jpg 400w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/NewDefundAd3-300x128.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Health care organizations are not the only groups cutting ties with Planned Parenthood. In July 2015, several major companies &#8211; including Coca-Cola and Ford Motor Company &#8211;\u00a0which had been listed as corporate donors to Planned Parenthood &#8211;\u00a0<a href=\"\/news\/corporations-scramble-to-distance-themselves-from-planned-parenthood\/\" target=\"_blank\">denied<\/a> having any ties to the abortion giant. Planned Parenthood&#8217;s corporate donor list was subsequently removed from its website.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to hospitals, businesses, and other groups,\u00a0state governments\u00a0have been distancing themselves from Planned Parenthood. In February, Ohio became the <a href=\"\/news\/ohio-defunds-planned-parenthood-redirects-roughly-1-3-million\/\" target=\"_blank\">tenth stat<\/a><a href=\"\/news\/ohio-defunds-planned-parenthood-redirects-roughly-1-3-million\/\" target=\"_blank\">e<\/a> to take action to eliminate public subsidies to the abortion giant.<\/p>\n<p>KentuckyOne is not the first, nor will it be the last.
