In 2014, a report<\/a> was released detailing some of the CIA\u2019s interrogation techniques; they weren\u2019t pleasant.<\/p>\n

Terrorism suspects experienced waterboarding, mock executions, long term sleep deprivation, cold temperatures, and worse –sometimes with fatal results. The report also identifies twenty six individuals who appear to have been detained by mistake, including one described as being \u201cintellectually challenged.\u201d<\/p>\n

Amnesty International reacted with outrage, and the group\u2019s UK branch demanded an inquiry<\/a> into the British government\u2019s \u201calleged complicity in this torture.\u201d This isn\u2019t surprising, as torture is something Amnesty consistently stands against. Well, except when they\u2019re defending it.<\/p>\n

The UK website also attacks Northern Ireland for banning abortion in most circumstances. That the law protects children conceived in rape as well as those with disabilities has Amnesty particularly upset, with the group calling it \u201cshameful<\/a>\u201d and \u201ca betrayal of women and girls<\/a>.\u201d<\/p>\n

The group dismissed concerns<\/a> from Northern Ireland\u2019s attorney general that changing the law could lead to disabled children being targeted. \u201cTo be clear,\u201d an Amnesty press release read, \u201cfatal and severe fetal impairment means the fetus will not survive birth or for very long after birth.\u201d Angela Morales\u2019 family would beg to differ<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Baby Angela got a prenatal diagnosis of anencephaly. While doctors said it was \u201cincompatible with life,\u201d Angela didn\u2019t seem to know that: she celebrated her first birthday last summer.<\/p>\n

Similar predictions were made about Ana Carolina Caceres<\/a>. The Brazilian author, journalist, and musician was born with microcephaly, a condition that\u2019s been in the news recently.<\/p>\n

A Zika virus outbreak has hit South America, and it\u2019s believed the disease is linked to microcephaly in babies. Some have cited this as a reason to relax Brazil\u2019s abortion laws, but Caceres says otherwise, contending that \u201cthose who have abortions are not giving their children a chance to succeed.\u201d And when that chance is denied, the results are gruesome.<\/p>\n

What Amnesty calls \u201csevere fetal impairments\u201d often aren\u2019t detected until well into the second trimester. Abortions at that stage involve a technique called D&E. How is it done? Dr. Anthony Levatino<\/a> is a former abortionist, and he\u2019s happy to explain:<\/p>\n
