Live Action News has been following a\u00a0harrowing\u00a0situation<\/a>\u00a0out of Boulder, Colorado, since\u00a0last March.<\/p>\n

Dynel Catrece Lane was found guilty on Tuesday of luring\u00a0Michelle Wilkins to her home, where Wilkins was expecting to pick up baby clothes. Instead, Lane stabbed her nearly to death and cut open her stomach, removing\u00a0Wilkins’ seven-month-old preborn daughter, Aurora, who subsequently did not survive.<\/p>\n

Fox 31, a Denver affiliate, reported<\/a> that Lane was found guilty of all the charges against her\u00a0–\u00a0six felony counts including attempted first-degree murder and unlawful termination of a pregnancy. Lane could face 140 years in prison, but is likely to receive 110-120 years.\u00a0Even so,\u00a0there were no charges filed against Lane for\u00a0the death of\u00a0Aurora.<\/p>\n

This was the decision Boulder County District Attorney Stan Garnett, who not only\u00a0attempted to\u00a0shorten Lane’s sentence, but decided not to charge Lane with murder<\/a> for her crimes against Aurora\u00a0–\u00a0despite the fact that\u00a0the baby girl was heard taking a breath, and could have survived outside of the womb with proper medical attention. Unfortunately, this isn’t so surprising, considering Garnett\u00a0is very much<\/a>\u00a0in the abortion industry’s\u00a0pocket.<\/p>\n

No justice was served for Aurora because Colorado failed to vote to provide such a status to preborn babies. The Brady Amendment was most recently defeated<\/a> in the 2014 mid-term elections.<\/p>\n

State Democrats also have a history of fighting against preborn babies like Aurora. \u00a0Most recently in May 2015<\/a>, they killed a bill that would have added such protections for women and their preborn children, which could have provided justice in this case.<\/p>\n

Lane will go to prison for the rest of her life. While justice is being served in one way or another,\u00a0Baby Aurora should\u00a0have received\u00a0justice as well.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
