{"id":88412,"date":"2016-05-06T14:00:10","date_gmt":"2016-05-06T18:00:10","guid":{"rendered":"\/news\/?p=88412"},"modified":"2019-01-16T08:44:30","modified_gmt":"2019-01-16T14:44:30","slug":"she-took-abortion-pill-then-saw-her-seven-week-old-baby","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/she-took-abortion-pill-then-saw-her-seven-week-old-baby\/","title":{"rendered":"She took the abortion pill, then saw her 7-week-old baby"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Christina was told by Planned Parenthood that her abortion by pill would \u201cfeel like a heavy period,\u201d so she was unprepared for the agonizing cramps, heavy bleeding, and having to see the perfectly formed body of her aborted baby.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Christina was nine weeks pregnant\u00a0when she went to Planned Parenthood at the urging of her fianc\u00e9. She already had a four-month-old baby at home, and her health was poor.\u00a0Christina describes the type of \u201ccounseling\u201d she received at\u00a0Planned Parenthood:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The counselor asked me if I was being forced into it. Asked me if I was making this decision 100% on my own. She advised me to make sure this was what I wanted.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">She then proceeded to tell me that the process will be pretty easy&#8230; and that I wouldn&#8217;t see anything. They didn&#8217;t ever use the word baby. They always just said &#8220;it&#8221; or &#8220;tissue&#8221; or &#8220;the process&#8221;. They never said anything about the level of development. They did tell me it would be too small to see anything.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>In the video below, Dr. Anthony Levatino describes the medical abortion procedure:<\/p>\n<div class=\"video-container\"><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"1000\" height=\"563\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/lRDnVSMr5j0?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/div>\n<p>Planned Parenthood also did not warn her about the pain the abortion would cause. After Christina took the pills, she writes about how the procedure was far from what she expected:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The pill was not at all what Planned Parenthood told me it would be. They said I would feel like heavy period. It felt like HELL! It was worse than labor with my son.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The worst was yet to come. Christina was in her ninth week of pregnancy, as calculated from her last menstrual period. Photo courtesy of Christina and used with permission.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>She was completely unprepared for the shock of seeing her child\u2019s body:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Within two hours of taking the second set of pills I had the baby in the toilet. When I turned around there it was in the sack and everything. I broke open the sack and held the helpless little baby in my hand. I cried and felt like I had just murdered someone so innocent.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Too late, Christina realized she had made the wrong choice. Within days she was rushed, bleeding, to the ER. She continued to have painful contractions for two weeks.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.abortionprocedures.com\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-88619 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/levatino-ad-LAN.jpg\" alt=\"levatino-ad-LAN\" width=\"306\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/levatino-ad-LAN.jpg 306w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/levatino-ad-LAN-300x221.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 306px) 100vw, 306px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Christina knows she was lied to by Planned Parenthood and is still grieving for her baby.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">I regretted it 100% after that night. Nothing can truly prepare you for an abortion no matter what route you take. I&#8217;m still struggling with it and have nightmares about it all the time. I always ask myself, &#8220;what if I never did it?&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>She hopes her story will help stop other women from going through the same traumatic experience. She says:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Ever since that night I felt horrible and ashamed. I have another son, and it breaks my heart to think I could have two right now. \u2026 I wish more people could know what a baby really looks like at 9 weeks.
