His rulings were consistently in opposition to recognizing a Constitutional right to abort a child\u00a0in the womb.<\/p>\n<p>Live Action President Lila Rose reacted to the news saying:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Many times, Justice Scalia stood up for life and our Constitution. May he rest in peace. The Senate must not accept\u00a0President Obama appointing another extreme, pro-abortion justice. Now we must fight harder than ever to elect a pro-life President who understands the judiciary and will appoint a worthy replacement.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Republican\u00a0Sen. Mike Lee, who sits on the Judiciary committee, has said that\u00a0no nominee from Obama should be considered according to a report by David Brody of CBN. With Republicans controlling the Senate, this means that the choice to replace Scalia will likely sit with the next President of the United States.<\/p>\n<p>Texas Governor\u00a0Greg Abbott in a statement said of\u00a0Scalia:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;He was the solid rock who turned away so many attempts to depart from and distort the Constitution.&#8221;<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>U.S. Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell added:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;The American people should have a voice in the selection of their next Supreme Court Justice.
