As Live Action News reported, 2015 was a historic and monumental year<\/a> for the pro-life movement. And it appears that 2016 may be even better.<\/p>\n

RH Reality Check, a pro-abortion group that promotes itself as “a resource for evidence-based news,” recently reported<\/a> that 147 pro-life bills have been introduced in state legislatures\u00a0in January alone. While RH Reality Check’s definition of “anti-choice” legislation is clearly unreliable and debatable, the fact is, they are on to something here. Recent trends show that pro-life legislation is surging across the country.<\/p>\n

Elizabeth Nash,\u00a0an associate at\u00a0the Guttmacher Institute, also a pro-abortion group,\u00a0sees 2016 as unique in regards to the large number of pro-life bills, considering it is also an election year.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhat we would normally see in an election year is a decrease in the number of [abortion] restrictions considered at the state level,\u201d Nash said. \u201cWe are not seeing that this year.\u201d<\/p>\n

However, the upward trend in pro-life legislation is not unique to the last month, or the last year. The Guttmacher Institute recently reported<\/a> that the last five years have accounted for more than 1\/4 of all abortion restrictions enacted since Roe v. Wade…<\/p>\n

In the 43 years since the U.S. Supreme Court handed down Roe v. Wade<\/em>, states have enacted 1,074 abortion restrictions. Of these, 288 (27%) have been enacted just since 2010.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

2016 has already seen the introduction of many important pro-life laws, some of which are\u00a0currently working their way through state legislatures. Florida is considering a ban on abortion<\/a> that would make performing an abortion or operating an abortion facility a felony.\u00a0 A bill<\/a> banning abortions based solely on sex or disability has already passed the Indiana Senate. Kentucky has already passed an informed consent bill<\/a>,\u00a0which requires\u00a0that biological facts and medical information be given to mothers at least 24 hours before an abortion.<\/p>\n

Statistics show that pro-life legislation is on the rise. When even hardcore abortion activists admit it (and freak out about it), that’s a good sign for the pro-life community.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
