{"id":86411,"date":"2016-01-27T07:26:37","date_gmt":"2016-01-27T12:26:37","guid":{"rendered":"\/news\/?p=86411"},"modified":"2016-01-26T22:35:27","modified_gmt":"2016-01-27T03:35:27","slug":"86411-2","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/86411-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Uncovered documents: UW-Madison got fetal organs from Planned Parenthood"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Alliance Defending Freedom has\u00a0uncovered <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adfmedia.org\/files\/UWMadisonRecordsRequestResults.pdf\">documents<\/a>\u00a0proving that despite the claims of both Planned Parenthood and the University of Wisconsin-Madison,\u00a0the university did in fact\u00a0obtain aborted fetal body parts of up to 18 weeks gestational age\u00a0from the abortion giant\u00a0&#8220;which\u00a0were used in medical research that resulted in published studies on\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/molehr.oxfordjournals.org\/content\/20\/7\/690.full\" target=\"_blank\">fetal hearts<\/a>\u00a0and\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pubmed\/24436137\" target=\"_blank\">fetal brains<\/a>\u00a0in 2014.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adfmedia.org\/News\/PRDetail\/9845\">press release<\/a>, ADF writes:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">In a\u00a0Jan. 14 news release, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Wisconsin claimed, \u201cPlanned Parenthood of Wisconsin does not offer fetal tissue donation for patients\u2026,\u201d confirming what\u00a0<i>The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reported<\/i>\u00a0in October of last year: \u201cThe group has said only a handful of its clinics, and none in Wisconsin, are involved in the donations.\u201d Likewise, Marsha Mailick, vice chancellor for research and graduate education at UW-Madison,\u00a0said in August of last year\u00a0that Planned Parenthood is not among the organizations that supply aborted babies to the university.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>If fetal tissue donation is not given to Planned Parenthood patients as an option, as Planned Parenthood claims, it is puzzling as to how the\u00a0University of Wisconsin-Madison <a href=\"http:\/\/www.adfmedia.org\/files\/UWMadisonRecordsRequestResults.pdf\">obtained fetal body parts<\/a> from a Wisconsin Planned Parenthood:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">According to\u00a0one of the published studies, UW researchers obtained hearts and brains from babies aborted \u201cbetween 10 and 18 weeks of gestational age\u201d within five minutes of the procedure. \u201cAfter the procedure, the heart was grasped with sterilized surgical instruments and carefully isolated from the rest of the thoracic content to be placed in RNAse-free plastic tubes. Fetal brain was also collected in the same fashion.\u201d The documents ADF obtained prove the university obtained the hearts and brains from Planned Parenthood.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>ADF states\u00a0that the Wisconsin Senate passed a bill last week that would &#8220;significantly restrict tax funding for Planned Parenthood&#8221; if signed into law. A bill to ban research on recently aborted babies at the University of Wisconsin is also being considered.<\/p>\n<p>In light of the information contained in the documents, ADF&#8217;s senior counsel Matt Bowman reiterated Planned Parenthood&#8217;s dishonesty when it comes to its own business practices, saying, &#8220;Both Planned Parenthood of Wisconsin and UW-Madison publicly denied they had any arrangement to supply baby parts from women undergoing abortion to researchers conducting gruesome experiments, but the documents we obtained prove they were not telling the
