We cry out for <em>every <\/em>life, from womb to tomb, to be celebrated. We push on the ceiling to be lifted until the light of dawn will shine on every new life. And across the globe, world celebrities continue to speak out about the tragedy of abortion. Meet five of them &#8211; an actor, an Olympian, a politician, a humanitarian, and a musician &#8211; and hear their stories.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Mexican actor Eduardo Verastegui<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/CafJJNETvqM\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Verastegui became well-known in the U.S. for his part in <em>Bella<\/em>. But even before that, he was a beloved celebrity in his home country. Eduardo has used his fame to reach mothers and fathers considering abortions, and has personally stood outside abortion clinics, kindly speaking to people going inside.<\/p>\n<p>In 2006, Life News printed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.lifenews.com\/2007\/12\/06\/nat-3518\/\">this account<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Not knowing of the animosity abortion businesses have towards pro-life advocates, he decided to go to a local abortion facility to learn more about what really happens inside. What occurred, he says, changed his life forever.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;I decided to go to an abortion center to see if I could learn more about what women think and feel when faced with a crisis pregnancy,&#8221; he said.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Outside, he met a Hispanic couple considering an abortion and he was able to speak with them in their native Spanish for 45 minutes. He offered them hope, help, encouragement and his phone number.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;Several months later,&#8221; Eduardo continues, &#8220;I received a phone call from the man I met with the pregnant lady in front of the abortion center.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;He said, \u2018Hello Eduardo \u2013 this is Javier, and I have great news. My boy was born yesterday! I want to thank you and ask your permission \u2013 I would like to name him, Eduardo,\u2019&#8221; the man told him.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;I just put the phone down \u2013 I couldn\u2019t even talk,&#8221; Eduardo says.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">&#8220;It\u2019s the most emotional thing I\u2019ve ever done in my life. It changed my life. It was beautiful. I went to the hospital to meet them and see the baby. A few weeks later, I was holding little Eduardito in my hands. It was beautiful,&#8221; he added.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Eduardo&#8217;s video, <em>Dura Realidad<\/em>, has been used outside of abortion clinics to save lives. (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=FFNuKPSe66c\">Here is the story<\/a> of one woman who changed her mind, exclaiming, &#8220;I can&#8217;t do that to my baby,&#8221; after watching the video.)<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/rx5A029sEPc\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><em>Dura Realidad<\/em> is available with English subtitles <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=9GDSNYnnjmE\">here<\/a>. Eduardo is also behind the <a href=\"http:\/\/iamviable.org\/\">IAmViable website<\/a>, which celebrates the value of individuals with disabilities, and he was a producer of <em>Crescendo<\/em>, an internationally acclaimed short film.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. British Olympian Jaime Moore Halsey<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/LtQHT3erUmw\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In late 2014, Halsey and her husband Steve (a former pro rugby player), were surprised to discover <a href=\"http:\/\/christiannews.net\/2015\/03\/06\/former-olympian-who-refused-selective-reduction-abortion-gives-birth-to-triplets\/\">they were expecting triplets<\/a>. Doctors advised the couple to &#8220;terminate&#8221; two of their small daughters. The doctors told the Halseys that their babies were at risk of Intrauterine Growth Restriction (see the story of a girl born with that condition <a href=\"\/news\/abandoned-baby-saved-grandfather\/\">here)<\/a> and that Jaime&#8217;s health was also in question.<\/p>\n<p>Jaime <a href=\"http:\/\/christiannews.net\/2015\/03\/06\/former-olympian-who-refused-selective-reduction-abortion-gives-birth-to-triplets\/\">described her response<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">My initial emotional reaction was &#8220;I can\u2019t do that. I will keep them all and carry on with the pregnancy whatever.&#8221; &#8230; Other people have triplets and I wasn\u2019t prepared to abort two healthy babies just to make life easier.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Her husband Steve agreed completely:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">We never thought about terminating two of the babies for a second&#8230;We want to bring all three of them into our happy family.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Almost exactly eleven months ago, on February 24, 2015, three beautiful little girls &#8211; Eden, Amber, and Erin &#8211; were safely born to the Halseys. Jaime was beside herself with joy and, with Steve, celebrated their choice for life.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">I will always remember that feeling\u2014a mixture of happiness, love and proudness in myself for being able to carry them in my tummy for so long and to now be hearing their little cries for the first time, just amazing!<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>3. Italian singer Andrea Bocelli<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/6QfKCGTfn3o\" width=\"420\" height=\"315\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><strong>3. American Congressman Henry Hyde<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/news\/happy-annviersary-to-the-hyde-amendment\/ac-hhyde\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-54136\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-54136 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/09\/Ac.hhyde_.jpg\" alt=\"Ac.hhyde\" width=\"150\" height=\"220\" \/><\/a>Hyde was very outspoken about the need &#8211; and our responsibility &#8211; to protect innocent preborn children. The <a href=\"\/news\/happy-annviersary-to-the-hyde-amendment\/\">Hyde Amendmen<\/a>t is named after him.<\/p>\n<p>In a 1996 speech to Congress, where he passionately attempted to persuade his colleagues to override President Clinton&#8217;s veto of the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban, Hyde <a href=\"http:\/\/marchforlife.org\/the-legacy-of-henry-hyde\/\">explained<\/a> how he wanted to face God one day:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">I am not the least embarrassed to say that I believe one day each of us will be called upon to render an account for what we have done, and maybe more importantly, what we fail to do in our lifetime, and while I believe in a merciful God, I believe in a just God, and I would be terrified at the thought of having to explain at the final judgment why I stood unmoved while Herod\u2019s slaughter of the innocents was being reenacted here in my own country.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p><strong>5. Macedonian humanitarian Mother Teresa<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/news\/mother-teresas-abortion-interview-online\/mother-teresa\/\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-28065\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-28065\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/mother-teresa.jpg\" alt=\"mother-teresa\" width=\"347\" height=\"277\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/mother-teresa.jpg 347w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/02\/mother-teresa-300x239.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 347px) 100vw, 347px\" \/><\/a>A <a href=\"http:\/\/www.crisismagazine.com\/2016\/marching-for-life-mother-teresa-and-mrs-clinton#.Vp-WlWb0MeM.facebook\">story is told<\/a> of the humble nun and the Democrat woman who would be president:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u201cWhy do you think we haven\u2019t had a woman as president yet?\u201d First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton asked her guest over their lunch at the White House.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">The little woman sitting at table with Mrs. Clinton did not hesitate in her reply.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u201cBecause she has probably been aborted,\u201d said Mother Teresa.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>At the 1994 National Prayer Breakfast, attended by both President Bill Clinton and then First Lady Hillary Clinton, Mother Teresa spoke these words:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">I feel that the greatest destroyer of peace today is abortion, because it is a war against the child, a direct killing of the innocent child, murder by the mother herself. And if we accept that a mother can kill even her own child, how can we tell other people not to kill one another? How do we persuade a woman not to have an abortion? As always, we must persuade her with love and we remind ourselves that love means to be willing to give until it hurts\u2026 Any country that accepts abortion is not teaching its people to love, but to use any violence to get what they want. This is why the greatest destroyer of love and peace is abortion. &#8230;<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">I will tell you something beautiful. We are fighting abortion by adoption\u2014by care of the mother and adoption for her baby\u2026 Please don\u2019t kill the child. I want the child. Please give me the child. I am willing to accept any child who would be aborted and to give that child to a married couple who will love the child and be loved by the child. From our children\u2019s home in Calcutta alone, we have saved over 3,000 children from abortion.
