On Tuesday night, Rep. Steve King (R-IA) followed through<\/a> on his promise<\/a> to walk out of President Barack Obama’s State of the Union Address in protest of Obama’s support for abortion-on-demand.<\/p>\n

“I got into town last night and I just decided, I can\u2019t do this again,\u201d King said of sitting through another State of the Union. In addition to walking out, King left his gallery seat open in recognition of abortion’s 57 million victims.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen the President announced that he would have an empty seat up by the First Lady for those who are victims of gun violence, who no longer have a voice,” the Congressman explained, “and I thought of the millions and millions of unborn babies \u2014 on his first day in office he issued an executive order that accelerated abortions worldwide.”<\/p>\n

Instead, King chose to spend his time in the members’ chapel, “praying for the unborn, praying for the restoration of the Constitution and that God will raise up a leader whom he will use to restore the soul of America.\u201d<\/p>\n

“As far as we know, [Obama’s] never shed a tear for the millions of unborn babies that have been aborted since he took office,” King lamented.<\/p>\n

Steve King has been one of Congress’s most outspoken pro-life members. He was one of the few Republicans to object<\/a> to last fall’s vote to defund Planned Parenthood on the grounds that a temporary moratorium on the abortion giant’s federal funds did not go far enough.<\/p>\n

The President did not mention<\/a> abortion or Planned Parenthood during his address.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
