><\/div><p>Planned Parenthood is facing a wave of backlash\u00a0from its own supporters as a result of\u00a0its endorsement of Democratic front-runner Hillary Clinton.<\/p>\n<p>In a statement yesterday, the abortion giant\u00a0announced that it is kicking off the presidential primary by backing the Democratic\u00a0hopeful, noting that Clinton will stand by Planned Parenthood\u2014 no matter what.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><!--more--><em>Hillary isn\u2019t the only pro-reproductive health candidate running \u2014 but at the end of the day, she hasn\u2019t just defended the rights we have, she\u2019s made fighting to expand access to reproductive health and rights the driving force of her political career.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Planned Parenthood&#8217;s\u00a0president, Cecile Richards, told the New York Times that Clinton embodies \u201ceverything Planned Parenthood has believed in and fought for over the past 100 years is on the ballot.\u201d Richards even advocated wearing matching pantsuits to celebrate.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">.<a a presidential primary is the\u00a0first for\u00a0Planned Parenthood\u00a0in its\u00a0100-year existence, and reveals that the abortion giant\u00a0understands that its future\u00a0is at stake in 2016.<\/p>\n<p>The group\u00a0came under fire in the summer of 2015 after a dozen videos released by the Center for Medical Progress revealed top-level Planned Parenthood officials discussing the harvesting of baby body parts, among other abuses. Since then, multiple investigations have been launched by the U.S. House\u00a0and state governments, and there have been numerous attempts to end federal subsidies for the abortion conglomerate.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/petition\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-68636 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DefundAd-400b.jpg\" alt=\"DefundAd-400b\" width=\"400\" height=\"170\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DefundAd-400b.jpg 400w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DefundAd-400b-300x128.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>This week, Congress sent a historic bill defunding the abortion giant to President Obama&#8217;s desk.
