Rafael Cruz, the father of Senator and Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz, <a href=\"http:\/\/cnsnews.com\/blog\/michael-w-chapman\/rev-cruz-its-pro-life-or-pro-murder-be-biblically-correct-instead-politically\">delivered<\/a> some blistering remarks on abortion in a recent talk before an evangelical Christian group.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have to stop being politically correct. We have to stop acquiescing even to the wording that the liberals use,&#8221; the elder Cruz, who is an evangelical minister in Dallas, Texas, declared. \u201cThey talk about the issue of life. They say \u2018pro-life\u2019 or \u2018pro-choice.\u2019 That\u2019s not the right word. It is \u2018pro-life\u2019 or \u2018pro-death.\u2019 It is \u2018pro-life\u2019 or \u2018pro-murder.\u2019\u201d<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo, he went on, &#8220;we\u2019re supposed to prostitute our principles on behalf of tolerance. Well, I\u2019ll tell you what. There are absolutes. There are absolutes. Cruz fled Fidel Castro&#8217;s Cuba in 1957 at the age of 18 and was granted political asylum in the United States in 1961. He has previously <a href=\"http:\/\/talkingpointsmemo.com\/livewire\/rafael-cruz-christians-take-back-society\">called<\/a> abortion &#8220;the real war on women,&#8221; declaring that &#8220;The blood of 57 million babies is crying out to God, just like the blood of Abel cried out to God.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>His son Ted has been an outspoken pro-lifer, emerging as a <a href=\"\/news\/mccain-vows-not-shut-government-cruz-blasts-weenie-approach\/\">leading voice<\/a> in the shutdown strategy to defund Planned Parenthood and <a href=\"\/news\/cruz-congress-can-end-abortion-without-the-supreme-court\/\">affirming<\/a> last month that he believes Congress has the constitutional authority to protect preborn babies without overturning <em>Roe v.
