A report released Monday by pro-abortion research tank, Guttmacher Institute, reveals that states across the country passed nearly\u00a0as many laws protecting preborn children in the last five years as in\u00a0the last 15 years.<\/p>\n

Guttmacher’s 2015 Year-End State Roundup<\/a> details how\u00a0states have enacted a record 288 restrictions on abortion since 2010\u00a0\u2014\u00a0including the 57 pro-life laws passed in 2015 \u2014 after a number of pro-life lawmakers secured wins in the 2010 midterm elections.<\/p>\n

Guttmacher reports that from 1995 – 2010, 292 abortion restrictions\u00a0were passed across the country. The number of pro-life\u00a0laws\u00a0in the last five years has\u00a0far outpaced decades-long efforts, and 2016 is showing no signs of slowing down.<\/p>\n

Laws enacted\u00a0include bans on abortion after a certain point in pregnancy, restrictions on abortion providers, counseling and waiting period legislation, and efforts to halt chemical abortions via telemedicine.<\/p>\n

In 2015, a handful of states attempted to defund abortion giant Planned Parenthood after a dozen videos released by the Center for Medical Progress revealed top-level Planned Parenthood officials discussing the harvesting of baby body parts. The videos propelled the abortion business into the national spotlight, and multiple states launched investigations into fetal tissue research practices. North Carolina and Arizona spearheaded efforts\u00a0to regulate fetal tissue research and donation.<\/p>\n

The numbers\u00a0compliment U.S.\u00a0abortion data which show that the national abortion rate is on the decline and more mothers are choosing life instead of abortion.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
