Ever wonder who Planned Parenthood\u2019s \u201cmale allies\u201d are? Well, you can stop wondering, because last month the group was nice enough to show us<\/a>:<\/p>\n

\"Male<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

They seem to range from college professors who sleep with their students to verbally abusive gay men. Oh, and also guys who spell \u201cwomen\u201d with an x. Apparently that\u2019s a thing now.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m glad Planned Parenthood can speak honestly about how it views male supporters, but this list just isn\u2019t complete; I can think of two other categories of men that belong on it. Now, I\u2019m only going to cover one of those groups today, but they both have a huge incentive to support Planned Parenthood. After all, Planned Parenthood\u2019s done plenty for them.<\/p>\n

Planned Parenthood is America\u2019s largest largest abortion chain<\/a>, performing over three hundred thousand every year. And when a man is having regular conversations like this, there\u2019s a good chance he\u2019s going to be using their services:<\/p>\n

\"Tucker

Safe, legal, and…well it’s legal, anyway.<\/p><\/div>\n

That\u2019s author Tucker Max, someone who built a career around racking up sex partners. (Or, as he preferred to call them, \u201csluts,\u201d \u201cwhores,\u201d and \u201cslutty whores<\/a>.\u201d)<\/p>\n

\"tuckermax\"<\/a>This could have resulted in some serious child support bills, but as Max explained in the book Assholes Finish First<\/i>, Planned Parenthood was there to keep that from happening. He wrote, \u201cDue to the potent combination of my sexual recklessness and the slutty nature of some of the girls I have slept with, I have accumulated enough stories and anecdotes about abortion that they could name a Planned Parenthood clinic after me.\u201d<\/p>\n

Tucker is far from unique, as there\u2019s an entire \u201cbro-choice<\/a>\u201d movement that shares his values. One of its members is Christian McQueen. He created \u201cThe Ten Slut Commandments<\/a>,\u201d a guide on how to \u201cexploit\u201d and \u201cuse\u201d women with \u201clow self-esteem\u201d and \u201cdaddy issues.\u201d And as McQueen explains, abortion makes treating women like toilet paper a whole lot safer:\"Christian<\/p>\n

A \u201cnew Prada purse\u201d might not be enough, so one of McQueen\u2019s fellow bro-choicers at the website Return of Kings proffered this suggestion:<\/p>\n

It should be noted that neither the potential for fetal pain<\/a> nor the research suggesting abortion raises a woman\u2019s risk of suicide<\/a> get any consideration here.<\/p>\n

But what if verbal abuse doesn\u2019t work? Well, some men opt for blackmail<\/a> and financial coercion<\/a>. Others prefer violence, with women having been shot<\/a>, stabbed<\/a>, bludgeoned<\/a>, burned<\/a> and smothered<\/a> to death for refusing to abort. That could help explain why homicide is a leading cause<\/a> of death during pregnancy, as well as why some studies indicate more than half<\/a> of women who abort are pressured to do so.<\/p>\n

And Planned Parenthood\u2019s political friends aren\u2019t eager to stop coercive men, either. When Texas state Rep. Molly White proposed a bill<\/a> requiring that abortion facilities offer a private room equipped with a telephone to contact law enforcement, NARAL Pro-Choice Texas complained that the idea<\/a> was \u201cnot needed.\u201d<\/p>\n

While Planned Parenthood might be fine with women being pressured and forced into abortions, the pro-life movement feels differently. (Here’s one guide<\/a> for women feeling pressured into abortion – by anyone.) We\u2019ll continue fighting for laws to protect women from coercion and abuse, and we\u2019ll also keep talking about alternatives to abortion. You can learn more about these alternatives at pregnancy care centers – places where pregnant women are offered emotional support and practical assistance.<\/p>\n

One of the largest is called Care-Net<\/a>. With locations across the country, it provides a place to talk about adoption <\/a>(including open adoption and other modern choices) or parenting, receive free pregnancy tests, health information, and material resources. Some facilities are equipped for additional services, including consultations with licensed medical professionals, ultrasounds for pregnancy confirmation, and testing for sexually transmitted infections.<\/p>\n

I hope reading about Planned Parenthood\u2019s bro-choice fan base has been informative, but there\u2019s still another constituency to go over. Because although the abortion giant may have revealed what some of its male supporters are like, you\u2019re seeing only part of the story. Later on, we\u2019ll look at some more of the guys they missed.<\/p>\n
