{"id":83674,"date":"2015-12-29T15:17:33","date_gmt":"2015-12-29T20:17:33","guid":{"rendered":"\/news\/?p=83674"},"modified":"2015-12-30T12:41:30","modified_gmt":"2015-12-30T17:41:30","slug":"planned-parenthood-health-care-services-declined-in-2014-while-taxpayer-funding-increased","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/planned-parenthood-health-care-services-declined-in-2014-while-taxpayer-funding-increased\/","title":{"rendered":"Planned Parenthood health care services declined in 2014, while taxpayer funding increased"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Planned Parenthood has long\u00a0touted\u00a0itself as the leader and advocate for\u00a0women&#8217;s health,\u00a0claiming\u00a0that millions of women would lose access to basic health care\u00a0services should the group&#8217;s taxpayer funding see elimination.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->However,<a href=\"https:\/\/www.plannedparenthood.org\/files\/2114\/5089\/0863\/2014-2015_PPFA_Annual_Report_.pdf\"> Planned Parenthood&#8217;s\u00a02014 annual report<\/a>, released Monday, confirms that the group&#8217;s\u00a0health services are on the decline, while its taxpayer funding increased nearly 5 percent.<\/p>\n<p>The report shows\u00a0Planned Parenthood dropped from 10,590,433 services in 2013 to 9,455,582 total services in 2014, and saw a decline from\u00a02.7 million\u00a0patients\u00a0in 2013-14 to a reported 2.5 million the following year.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Planned Parenthood performed 935,573 total services in the &#8220;Cancer Screening and Prevention&#8221;category, which includes pap tests and breast exams. Last year, Planned Parenthood made 1,880 referrals, a number which increased to 2,024 referrals.<\/p>\n<p>Make no mistake though, Planned Parenthood is still very much so an active abortion giant. With 323,999 of them, there were over 160 times more abortions as\u00a0adoption referrals in 2014.<\/p>\n<p>American taxpayers, whether they support Planned Parenthood or not, ought to question why their money funds\u00a0an organization decreasing in services, while increasing in scandal and controversies.<\/p>\n<p>A comparison of the number of other kinds of services from the two most recent annual reports\u00a0can be found below.<\/p>\n<p><strong>STI Testing &amp; Treatment:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2013-2014: 4,470,597 total services.<\/p>\n<p>2014-2015: 4,218,149 total services.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Contraception:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2013-2014: 3,577,348 total services.<\/p>\n<p>2014-2015: 2,945,059 total services.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other Women&#8217;s Health Services (Pregnancy Test and Prenatal Care)<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>2013-2014: 1,147,467 total services.<\/p>\n<p>2014-2015: 1,190,408 total services.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Other Services (Family Practice Services;
