When a woman comes into a facility for a late-term abortion, this is the procedure that is sometimes used.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The abortion itself will take several days to complete. Laminaria will be inserted into the woman\u2019s vagina to cause the cervix to dilate.\u00a0But unlike other late-term abortions, the abortionist will kill the preborn baby first, with a shot of digoxin through the heart. Live Action&#8217;s undercover cameras reveal what late-term abortionists would&#8230;<\/p>\n<p>Posted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/liveaction\/\">Live Action<\/a> on\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/liveaction\/videos\/10153387167423728\/\">Saturday, June 20, 2015<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Time and time again, clinic staffers assured investigators that should the baby somehow survive this process, they would not resuscitate or provide any kind of life-saving care, a violation of the Born-Alive Infants Protection Act.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/inhuman\/press\/press-release-undercover-video-reveals-horrifying-testimony-in-bronx-ny-abortion-clinic\/\">In New York<\/a>, the woman is told to flush the baby down the toilet if she delivers the baby at home. When the woman asks what would happen in the baby were to be born alive, the worker tells her that they will make sure the baby does not survive by placing the baby into a jar of \u201csolution.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><em>\u201cThe solution will make it stop. It\u2019s not going to be moving around in the jar \u2026 that\u2019s the whole purpose of the solution.\u201d<br \/>\n\u201cIt\u2019ll automatically stop. It won\u2019t be able to\u2026not with the solution.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n<p>The staffer also <a href=\"\/news\/fact-checking-clinic-workers-claims-about-laminaria\/\">lies to her about laminaria<\/a>, saying that once they\u2019re inserted, it\u2019s too late for the woman to change her mind.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">CLINIC: The seaweed is where the heartbeat, that\u2019s what kills the heartbeat. As well.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">WOMAN: Oh really<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">CLINIC: Yes. The sticks that are, they\u2019re toxic.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">WOMAN: Oh really.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">CLINIC: So if you don\u2019t come back the next day, that could be your life at risk.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">WOMAN: Oh my God, yeah.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">CLINIC: So that\u2019s why we make sure we tell patients to make sure, because you some some [sic]patients they\u2019re like, Oh my God, they change their mind\u2013<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">WOMAN: Yeah, oh my gosh\u2013<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">CLINIC: And then, they never come back<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">WOMAN: and then what would happen to them, like \u2013 [interruption] So like what would happen to those girls then, what would they have to do?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">CLINIC: well they\u2019ll end up in the emergency room and they\u2019ll still have to do it, because the emergency room will have to take it out.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">WOMAN: \u2026. So they\u2019re not going to try to reverse the decision or anything?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">CLINIC: you can\u2019t, because your child will come out say, either stillborn, or it will come out not normal, you know missing parts, deformed. It\u2019s just toxic.\u2026 It has to be 100%. You have to be 100% that you want to do this.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Now, it is true that the laminaria can cause infection and would need to be removed\u00a0(at least <a href=\"http:\/\/clinicquotes.com\/legal-abortion-death-edrica-goode\/\">one Planned Parenthood patient died from just this)<\/a>;\u00a0but if a woman goes home and changes her mind, she absolutely can have the laminaria removed and continue on with her pregnancy. The laminaria is not toxic\u2014 it will not kill the baby, nor will it cause the baby to become deformed, sick, or disabled. Staffers, however, want to insure that she will go through with the procedure, so they lie.<\/p>\n<p>The second video in the\u00a0Inhuman investigation was in <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/inhuman\/investigation-2-washington-d-c\/\">Washington, D.C.<\/a>, with late-term abortionist Cesare Santangelo. This clinic is not related to the clinic in New York,\u00a0yet once again, we see that staffers would refuse to help a baby born alive:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u201cTechnically \u2013 you know, legally we would be obligated to help it, you know, to survive. But, you know, it probably wouldn\u2019t. It\u2019s all in how vigorously you do things to help a fetus survive at this point. Let\u2019s say you went into labor, the membranes ruptured, and you delivered before we got to the termination part of the procedure here, you know? Then we would do things \u2013 we would \u2013 we would not help it. We wouldn\u2019t intubate. It would be, you know, uh, a person, a terminal person in the hospital, let\u2019s say, that had cancer, you know? You wouldn\u2019t do any extra procedures to help that person survive. Like \u2018do not resuscitate\u2019 orders. We would do the same things here.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>The third video was in <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/inhuman\/press\/phoenix-az-late-term-abortion-center-exposed\/\">Phoenix, Arizona<\/a>, with abortionist Laura Mercer, who explains how they kill\u00a0the child:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">We do the injection, which is a quick poke through your belly, um, and that stops the fetal heart, so that makes it so, if you were to deliver, there shouldn\u2019t be movement. There shouldn\u2019t be any of those things\u2026 Yes we induce a demise\u2013an intrauterine demise\u2026 Um, death.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Then, yet again, we are told that they will not attempt to save a baby born alive.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Sometimes they are [alive], yeah. But it doesn\u2019t\u2013it doesn\u2019t necessarily mean that it will come out whole. \u2018Cause they use suction, plus they use instruments so sometimes the fetuses don\u2019t come out\u2013you know, it\u2019s not complete\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Investigator: But if it does come out whole\u2026I mean, are\u2013will they resuscitate it? Like, will I have to take care of it?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Linda: Uh-uh\u2026 No\u2026 They do not resuscitate.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Mercer also insists that the woman comes to the abortion clinic if the baby is born alive, or if her water breaks. She stresses that the woman should not go to the emergency room, because ER workers will try to save the baby in either circumstance\u2026 and, of course, Mercer will not.<\/p>\n<p>Abortionist\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/inhuman\/investigation-4-carhart\/\">LeRoy Carhart<\/a>, who <a href=\"\/news\/late-term-abortionist-leroy-carhart-sends-another-patient-to-the-er\/\">has a history of killing and maiming his patients,<\/a>\u00a0made\u00a0the most horrifying of all, and joked about his abortion \u201ctool kit\u201d:<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Woman: But if we run into trouble \u2026 for some reason, I\u2019m not able to deliver, you\u2019ll be able to get it out in pieces.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Dr. Carhart: We\u2019d take it out\u2026<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Woman: What do you use to break it up? Just\u2013<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Dr. Carhart: A whole bunch of\u2013<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Woman: You\u2019ve got a toolkit.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Dr. Carhart: A pickaxe, a drill bit, yeah (laughs).<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>He also explained that he kills the baby in advance with a shot to the heart, and then uttered the infamous \u201cmeat in a crock pot\u201d line.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Dr. Carhart: It gets soft \u2013 like, mushy \u2013 so you push it through.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Woman: So what makes the baby \u201cmushy\u201d?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Dr. Carhart: The fact that it\u2019s not alive for 2 or 3 days.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Woman: Oh. So I\u2019ll have a dead baby in me?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Dr. Carhart: For 3 days, yeah\u2026 It\u2019s like putting meat in a crock pot, okay? \u2026 It gets softer. It doesn\u2019t get infected or\u2013<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Woman: OK, so the dead baby in me is like meat in a crock pot.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">Dr. Carhart: Pretty much, yeah \u2026 in a slow cooker.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p>Carhart is also the king of the hotel room abortion, sending\u00a0his patients to wait and hope that everything goes as planned \u2013 because as <a href=\"\/news\/christin-gilbert-leroy-carharts-forgotten-victim\/\">Christin Gilbert<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/inhuman\/jennifer-morbellis-story\/\">Jennifer Morbelli<\/a> tragically discovered, he won\u2019t be there if anything goes wrong.<\/p>\n<p>Finally, in <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/inhuman\/just-sit-on-the-toilet-nm-abortionists-send-women-to-hotel-rooms-alone-to-await-room-service-abortions\/\">New Mexico<\/a>, an investigator is told that women are sent to hotel rooms to deliver their dead babies. A worker tells the investigator that should she deliver early, she should unlock the hotel door, and just sit on the toilet and wait for the abortionist\u00a0to arrive.<\/p>\n<blockquote>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">If we can\u2019t catch it [delivery of the dead baby \u2013 the final stage of the abortion procedure] early enough, <strong>which has happened<\/strong> \u2026 then you\u2019ll want to unlock the door to the hotel room, get your cell phone, and just sit on the toilet.
