{"id":81524,"date":"2015-12-02T10:24:50","date_gmt":"2015-12-02T15:24:50","guid":{"rendered":"\/news\/?p=81524"},"modified":"2015-12-02T10:24:50","modified_gmt":"2015-12-02T15:24:50","slug":"late-term-abortionist-warren-hern-sued-botched-abortion-ending-sterility","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/late-term-abortionist-warren-hern-sued-botched-abortion-ending-sterility\/","title":{"rendered":"Late-term abortionist Warren Hern sued for botched abortion ending in sterility"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Notorious late-term abortionist Warren Hern <a href=\"http:\/\/www.denverpost.com\/news\/ci_29188957\/woman-sues-boulder-abortion-doctor-injury-causing-sterility\">faces a lawsuit<\/a> from a Nebraska woman who alleges that one of his botched abortions caused an injury that left her unable to have children in the future.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Jennifer and Jason DeBuhr claim they chose to have an abortion in 2013 after their wanted child was diagnosed with major cerebral defects that made it unlikely the child would survive a year past birth.<\/p>\n<p>Hern performed the abortion, but allegedly left a four-centimeter skull fragment inside of Jennifer, which became lodged in her uterus, causing severe pain, bleeding, and mental distress. Eventually, her uterus had to be removed.<\/p>\n<p>The DeBuhrs&#8217; civil suit is seeking $75,000 in damages from Hern, whom they accuse of failing to warn them about the abortion procedure&#8217;s potential dangers. Hern declined to comment, claiming the reporter&#8217;s inquiry was the first he heard of the suit: &#8220;I don&#8217;t know anything about this.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Warren Hern was <a href=\"\/news\/tiller-sanctifying-late-term-abortion-lying\/\">celebrated as one of the last<\/a> third-trimester abortionists in the United States in the popular pro-abortion documentary &#8220;After Tiller.&#8221; His work has made him intensely controversial.<\/p>\n<p>In a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.esquire.com\/features\/abortion-doctor-warren-hern-0909\">2009 profile for Esquire<\/a>, John Richardson expressed discomfort that Hern lists dwarfism as one of the &#8220;fetal abnormalities&#8221; for which he will abort, and a year later Hern <a href=\"http:\/\/healthland.time.com\/2010\/11\/05\/qa-the-last-remaining-doctor-who-performs-late-term-abortions-speaks-out\/\">told Time Magazine<\/a> that &#8220;It is the clear policy of the American anti-abortion movement to kill every doctor who does abortions,&#8221; despite the <a href=\"\/news\/abortion-is-health-care-doctors-actions-speak-louder-than-words\/\">rarity of murdering abortionists<\/a> and pro-life leaders <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/news\/pro-life-leaders-condemn-shooting-at-planned-parenthood-facility-urge-cauti\">universally condemning<\/a> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.lifesitenews.com\/news\/all-statements-from-pro-life-groups-condemning-tiller-murder\">anti-abortion violence<\/a>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Notorious
