Not only was the scene lauded, but &#8220;Silent Night&#8221; \u2014a song celebrating the birth of Jesus\u2014\u00a0played in the background.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The episode also featured gratuitous statements of support for Planned Parenthood from other characters, one who repeated\u00a0the debunked\u00a0lie that abortions account for only 3 percent of services at Planned Parenthood.<\/p>\n<p>To add insult to injury, the episode was titled &#8220;Baby It&#8217;s Cold Outside.&#8221; Nothing says &#8220;Merry Christmas &#8221; like the death of innocents.<\/p>\n<p>Live Action has issued a <a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/petitionabc\/\">petition demanding ABC and Disney to stop promoting abortion.\u00a0<\/a> The demand is simple, but crucial.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/liveaction.org\/petitionabc\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-80814\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Screen-Shot-2015-11-23-at-4.07.47-PM-700x245.png\" alt=\"Screen Shot 2015-11-23 at 4.07.47 PM\" width=\"474\" height=\"166\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Screen-Shot-2015-11-23-at-4.07.47-PM-700x245.png 700w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Screen-Shot-2015-11-23-at-4.07.47-PM-300x105.png 300w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/11\/Screen-Shot-2015-11-23-at-4.07.47-PM.png 834w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 474px) 100vw, 474px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<blockquote><p>While <a href=\"http:\/\/variety.com\/2015\/tv\/news\/scandal-abortion-planned-parenthood-1201645630\/\" target=\"_blank\">Planned Parenthood applauded the show<\/a> for promoting abortion on prime time television, and likely also appreciated the hundreds of thousands of dollars of free advertising, <strong>we demand that ABC, and its parent company, Disney, publicly commit to never promote abortion as a positive alternative on your networks.<\/strong> Airing abortion propaganda only desensitizes people to the destruction of innocent life and denies abortion\u2019s psychological and physical harm to women.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As of late Monday, the petition had over 20,000 signers.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>In the mid-season finale of ABC&#8217;s hit show &#8220;Scandal,&#8221;\u00a0the show&#8217;s lead character, Olivia Pope, aborted the baby she conceived with the President.
