The Ohio House voted on Tuesday in favor of a bill that would block $1.3 million in annual funding to abortion giant Planned Parenthood. The vote comes in the wake of controversy surrounding the organization’s involvement in baby parts trafficking.<\/p>\n

House Bill 294 would redirect Planned Parenthood’s funding to federal qualified health centers, health departments, and other clinics in the state that do not perform abortions, or contract with abortion groups.\u00a0Today’s vote by lawmakers passed along party lines 62-30.<\/p>\n

Last month, a similar bill passed the Ohio Senate, and lawmakers must now decide which bill will advance. Ohio Governor and presidential hopeful, John Kasich, supports the legislation.<\/p>\n
