{"id":79056,"date":"2015-11-03T15:32:58","date_gmt":"2015-11-03T20:32:58","guid":{"rendered":"\/news\/?p=79056"},"modified":"2015-11-03T17:22:18","modified_gmt":"2015-11-03T22:22:18","slug":"5-abortion-facilities-have-closed-or-halted-abortions-in-5-weeks","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/5-abortion-facilities-have-closed-or-halted-abortions-in-5-weeks\/","title":{"rendered":"5 abortion facilities have closed or halted abortions in 5 weeks"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p>Between September 28 and October 29, 2015, the following five abortion facilities have <a href=\"http:\/\/www.operationrescue.org\/archives\/five-abortion-clinics-shut-down-in-five-weeks\/\" target=\"_blank\">ceased<\/a> abortion services, with four of the\u00a0facilities shutting down for good:<\/p>\n<p>\u2022 Ocala Women\u2019s Center in Ocala, Florida<br \/>\n\u2022 Albany Medical-Surgical Center in Chicago, Illinois<br \/>\n\u2022 Appleton Health Center Planned Parenthood in Appleton, Wisconsin<br \/>\n\u2022 Summit Women\u2019s Center in Bridgeport, Connecticut<br \/>\n\u2022 Amethyst Health Center in Manassas, Virginia<\/p>\n<p>So far, 21 abortion clinics have <a href=\"http:\/\/www.operationrescue.org\/archives\/five-abortion-clinics-shut-down-in-five-weeks\/\" target=\"_blank\">shut down<\/a> in 2015 alone.<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>Troy Newman, president of Operation Rescue, explains that recent closures of abortion facilities\u00a0are having a noticeable impact on state and national abortion rates.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhen abortion numbers come out for 2015, we expect that abortions will have decreased in each state where abortion clinics have closed,\u201d said Newman. \u201cWhen there is no abortion business marketing their grisly product to vulnerable women, we have found that ladies find other ways of managing life challenges other than taking the lives of their babies. In other words, when abortion clinics close, lives are saved.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.liveaction.org\/petition\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"size-full wp-image-68636 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/www.liveactionnews.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DefundAd-400b.jpg\" alt=\"DefundAd-400b\" width=\"400\" height=\"170\" srcset=\"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DefundAd-400b.jpg 400w, https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DefundAd-400b-300x128.jpg 300w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The abortion rate\u00a0<a href=\"\/news\/thousands-of-babies-saved-in-iowa-as-abortion-rate-drops-40-percent-since-2007\/\" target=\"_blank\">dropped 40\u00a0percent\u00a0in Iowa <\/a>between 2007 and 2015 following the closure of several abortion facilities, including Planned Parenthood facilities. As Newman pointed out, the continuing trend of abortion facility\u00a0closures\u00a0will\u00a0save the lives of thousands.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Between September 28 and
