An online news group has released a series of videos that they say are undercover tapes recorded by\u00a0The Center for Medical Progress. The footage appears to show top-level abortion industry executives\u00a0discussing their baby parts harvesting trade.\u00a0Got News<\/a>, the group that\u00a0released the tapes, say they\u00a0“obtained all of the videos from a source on Capitol Hill.”<\/p>\n

Video footage seen here<\/a> says it was obtained from\u00a0a “National Abortion Foundation’s annual meeting in San Francisco, CA, on April 7th, 2014.” We do not know of a group called the\u00a0National Abortion Foundation and believe this description is a typo of\u00a0National Abortion\u00a0Federation, which issued a letter in response to the apparent leak.<\/span><\/p>\n

On the tape titled\u00a0“2nd Trimester Provider Self Care” shows panelists\u00a0discussing the “stigma” associated with the procedure. Attendees respond with laughter and applause as former National Abortion Federation\u00a0Executive Director,\u00a0Dr. Uta Landy, read comments by abortion providers (watch this section\u00a0here<\/a>):<\/span><\/p>\n

“I don’t like saying I am dismembering a fetus…It makes me feel bad.”<\/p>\n

“I find second trimester abortions grotesque.”<\/p>\n

“I feel like any time you enter the body, it’s grotesque. [laughter] I just want to honor that we have different feelings about this–we need to be prepared.”<\/p>\n

“My coping mechanism is to cope with the baby fetus –reverence with something that was alive and is now not.”<\/p>\n

“An eyeball just fell down into my lap and that’s gross [laughter], and I say to myself, ‘This abortion is going well; it’s going safely.'” [laughter and applause]<\/p>\n

Dr. Landy currently\u00a0runs the residency training program at the University of California, San Francisco’s\u00a0Bixby Center for Global Reproductive Health.<\/p>\n
