The actions of abortionist Steven Brigham have been\u00a0disturbing (and illegal) enough for\u00a0his medical license to\u00a0revoked, relinquished, or suspended in five\u00a0states. But what’s more is that\u00a0after his license was revoked in New Jersey last year, he failed to hand over ownership of his businesses.<\/p>\n

As NJ.com reports<\/a>, Brigham\u00a0also failed to respond to a subpoena from the state’s Attorney General’s Office in June seeking information about the businesses. He narrowly avoided an appearance in a state Superior Court by finally relinquishing\u00a0his abortion facility records after repeated requests…<\/p>\n

Deputy Attorney general Bindi Merchant also made nine inquiries with Brigham and his attorney, Joseph Gorrell seeking annual reports and contracts associated with Brigham’s four corporations: American Healthcare Services, Advanced Professional Services, Alpha Real Estate and American Wellness Services, according to the records.<\/p>\n

Brigham has not been allowed to practice since 2010, when the state Board of Medical Examiners found he had skirted state law by starting late-term abortions with five women. He administered a drug that killed the fetus in his South Jersey office, and ordering them to drive to his Maryland clinic, where the surgical procedure was completed.<\/p>\n

Last year, Brigham lost an appeal and the board revoked his license.<\/p>\n

Without his license, Brigham was required by state law to divest himself from the clinics he owned in Elizabeth, Mount Laurel, Paramus, Phillipsburg, Toms River, Woodbridge and Voorhees.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Brigham had claimed to have finally\u00a0turned over ownership\u00a0of his abortion facilities\u00a0to his associate Vikram H. Kaji, thus avoiding a court hearing. But this turned out to be a fraud. Operation Rescue pointed out<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Brigham reported that he transferred ownership to long-time employee Vikram Kaji, but the transfer was a sham. Under questioning by the New Jersey Board of Physicians, Kaji denied owning the abortion facilities.<\/p>\n

Operation Rescue filed a\u00a0complaint<\/a>\u00a0seeking to nullify the phony transfer. Kaji was charged with fraud for going along with Brigham\u2019s attempt to deceive authorities into thinking he had relinquished ownership.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

While it’s encouraging that the state of New Jersey has acted, Brigham’s record is truly frightening.<\/p>\n

Jill Stanek has covered<\/a> his licensing troubles and other issues that has him at odds with several state authorities. Like other abortionists<\/a>, Brigham has practiced in several states,\u00a0where he has had his share of\u00a0problems.\u00a0Pro-Life Action League also included him in their list of “America’s Most Notorious Abortionists”<\/a>:<\/p>\n

New Jersey-based abortionist Steven Brigham was arrested in 2011 and charged with five counts each of first- and second-degree murder after prosecutors alleged that he performed five illegal late-term abortions on viable fetuses in Elkton, Maryland. He has also been previously convicted for failing to file income taxes, and he has had medical licenses revoked in Florida, New York, and New Jersey, and he surrendered his Pennsylvania license only after state officials threatened to revoke it. Brigham still owns 16 abortion clinics in four states, but is not licensed to practice medicine in any of them.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

AbortionDocs.org has a lengthy amount of documents on Brigham on their website<\/a>,\u00a0along with\u00a0a warning to contact the authorities should anyone see him practicing medicine anywhere. But unfortunately, his associate Kaji isn’t much better. AbortionDocs.org\u00a0also has\u00a0a page<\/a> on him, which notes that Kaji\u00a0is a registered sex offender.<\/p>\n

The unfortunate truth is that none of this should be\u00a0surprising to anyone who knows the patterns of abortionists. It does make it all that more urgent to communicate to the public and the authorities that these people clearly do not have in mind what’s best for women and their children.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
