This is a betrayal of free speech, and a intrusion of government into freedom of conscience. I share with Megyn Kelly on Fox News.<\/p>\n<p>Posted by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/lilagracerose\">Lila Rose<\/a> on Wednesday, October 21, 2015<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>Hogue made a very curious statement, considering her absolute refusal to support Women&#8217;s Right to Know Acts (more on that later). She said, &#8220;Regardless of how any individual feels about abortion, we can all agree that women do better with access to information.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The problem lies not in Hogue&#8217;s statement. Indeed, we can all agree women should be given access to information. Instead, the problem lies in the complete lack of sincerity in Hogue&#8217;s claim.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1. Women in the U.S. know abortion is legal.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This is a major reason Hogue&#8217;s claim falls flat on its face. Women are constantly informed that abortion is legal in the U.S. This is not a surprise. It is not a newsflash. Hogue needn&#8217;t pretend. Women already know they can obtain an abortion in California &#8211; and this knowledge is available to them without requiring pregnancy centers to post public signage that amounts to no more than <a href=\"\/news\/three-lies-narals-boss-told-about-ca-anti-pregnancy-center-law\/\">a state-required advertisement<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>As Rose stated, the California law is flat-out &#8220;forcing them [pregnancy care centers] to promote abortion&#8221; &#8211; not just inform women that the option exists.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2. Hogue flatly rejects applying the same standard to abortion clinics.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>At one point, Megyn Kelly asked Hogue: &#8220;Would you be okay, if you think more information is better, with a mandate that the abortion clinics have to tell the women what their fetus looks like before they abort it and what will happen during the abortion procedure?&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>Fair question, if the goal is giving women access to more information. Yet Hogue refused to even attempt an answer.<\/p>\n<p>Kelly&#8217;s question is one news anchors and media outlets should force NARAL, Planned Parenthood, and their kin to answer. Why is information telling women where they can obtain a free abortion the only information you support giving them?<\/p>\n<p>(As an aside, <a href=\"\/news\/abortion-counselor-distraught-woman-ill-give-five-minutes-decide\/\">this story<\/a> provides just one personal example &#8211; of many &#8211; regarding how much time abortion facilities like to give women to truly consider information. Many more stories on <a href=\"https:\/\/liveaction.org\/rosaacuna\/\">the lack of information given to women<\/a> by abortion clinics can be found <a href=\"\/news\/cnn-special-report-features-hundreds-of-women-who-regret-their-abortions\/\">here<\/a>.)<\/p>\n<p><strong>3. Hogue really doesn&#8217;t support more information for women.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Here&#8217;s the kicker, folks. Ilyse Hogue may <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/ilyse.hogue\/posts\/10156217694245613?pnref=story\">claim<\/a> that\u00a0&#8220;&#8230; women need accurate information to make informed decisions. Duh!&#8221; And yet, she spends her time trying to take this accurate information away from women.<\/p>\n<p>Time and again, NARAL and Hogue oppose common-sense laws on abortion that a majority of Americans support. Hogue has personally come against <a href=\"http:\/\/franks.house.gov\/paincapable\">a federal law<\/a> that would inform women that preborn children can scientifically feel pain by 20 weeks.<\/p>\n<p>She has opposed ultrasound bills that would give women accurate medical information about their preborn child&#8217;s age and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ehd.org\/\">stage of development<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>She opposes Women&#8217;s Right to Know Acts that give women the facts about what happens in an abortion. When Planned Parenthood employees are caught on tape <a href=\"https:\/\/liveaction.org\/rosaacuna\/\">lying to women about fetal development<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/liveaction.org\/planned-parenthood-lying\/\">risks of abortion to women<\/a>, Hogue and NARAL do not decry such deception and the hiding of factual information from women.<\/p>\n<p>For all her bluff and blunder, Hogue actually does <em>not<\/em> believe in more information so women can make &#8220;informed decisions.&#8221; She merely believes in state-mandated abortion advertisements.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On Tuesday night, Live Action President Lila Rose faced off with NARAL President Ilyse Hogue on &#8220;The Kelly File.&#8221; Rose and Hogue debated California&#8217;s new law, which forces pregnancy care centers to refer women to abortion facilities where, in some cases, the state will pay for their abortions with taxpayer funds.
