{"id":76935,"date":"2015-10-14T12:06:19","date_gmt":"2015-10-14T16:06:19","guid":{"rendered":"\/news\/?p=76935"},"modified":"2015-10-14T11:07:30","modified_gmt":"2015-10-14T15:07:30","slug":"baby-madalyns-life-showed-the-humanity-of-the-preborn","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.liveaction.org\/news\/baby-madalyns-life-showed-the-humanity-of-the-preborn\/","title":{"rendered":"Baby Madalyn&#8217;s life showed the humanity of the preborn"},"content":{"rendered":"<div style=\"margin-top: 0px; margin-bottom: 0px;\" class=\"sharethis-inline-share-buttons\" ><\/div><p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-271 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/prolifewife.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/10\/image44.jpg?w=300&amp;h=218\" alt=\"Devin Jones and Steven Dutson\" width=\"300\" height=\"218\" \/>Devin and Steven were high school sweethearts in their early twenties, engaged, with a baby on the way in the spring of 2013.<\/p>\n<p>While many other young, expectant parents may choose to abort a child\u00a0and have a family after they are better prepared, this couple was beyond thrilled and never doubted the purpose of their baby.\u00a0It was finally the week of delivery and they were ready to bring their daughter home.<\/p>\n<p>On the way to the nearby city where they were set to deliver, an oncoming driver hit them at high speeds and lost his own life in the process.\u00a0The crash was devastating and left Devin and Steven in critical condition.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->After both were flown to the hospital, Steven underwent surgeries for multiple crushed bones and treatment for a severe head injury.<br \/>\nDevin was left in a coma for days barely surviving a crushed pelvis, shattered arms and legs, broken ribs, and every other injury you can imagine.<\/p>\n<p>When Devin\u00a0woke up, she\u00a0asked about Madi.\u00a0She was more than devastated to learn that her beautiful full term baby girl did not survive the crash.\u00a0Madalyn Dutson was killed just before her scheduled delivery and her loss broke the hearts of all who knew of her.<\/p>\n<p>How can anything good come from such tragedy?<\/p>\n<p>Madalyn saved her mother&#8217;s life. If Devin had not been pregnant, she would be dead. Not only that, Madalyn protected her mother&#8217;s vital organs. Because of this, a younger brother was\u00a0able to be\u00a0born.\u00a0Madalyn&#8217;s memory\u00a0keeps her parents close together and inspires others.\u00a0Many people live long lives and do little\u00a0of value, but Madalyn lived only nine\u00a0months in the womb, and\u00a0she is a hero to her parents.<\/p>\n<p>Devin says Madi had personality, moved to the sound of Steven\u2019s voice when he came home, and\u00a0flinched at vibrations and loud noises.\u00a0She was a real human being &#8211; not a \u201cclump of cells\u201d or a mere \u201cfetus.\u201d This preborn child was just that:\u00a0a <em>child<\/em>. She was unique, beautiful, and treasured.\u00a0The tragic loss of her life has made people realize a preborn baby lost is a <em>life<\/em> lost.<\/p>\n<p>Madalyn&#8217;s story has been spreading across the nation as a sign that the unborn truly do matter.\u00a0People who supported late-term abortion have changed their beliefs after hearing her\u00a0story. How can you claim the loss of a preborn baby in a car accident is tragic\u00a0while supporting\u00a0the killing of others just like Madalyn?\u00a0How can you cry over miscarriages and stillbirths if you swear there is no real human to be lost until after birth?<\/p>\n<p>Madalyn\u2019s story reaches the hearts of everyone who hears it. Nobody can deny she was her own person.\u00a0Madalyn showed people how much the preborn matter. She lived only in the womb, but she lived greatly.\u00a0She may not be here today but she has already changed countless lives by proving an unborn child lost is a <em>real child<\/em> lost.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignright wp-image-270 size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/prolifewife.files.wordpress.com\/2015\/10\/image43.jpg?w=200&amp;h=300\" alt=\"Dutson family\" width=\"200\" height=\"300\" \/>Madalyn will never be forgotten. She\u00a0was not a mistake or an accident but rather a beautiful gift to the world, a\u00a0hero to her mother, and an angel who made the way for her baby brother\u00a0(pictured right, with Steve and Devin).<\/p>\n<p>Showing the world the humanity of the unborn is so vital in the fight to defend them.\u00a0People can\u2019t continue to claim the children in the womb are anything other than children. By sharing Madalyn&#8217;s story, we can save countless more children by showing\u00a0the world the beauty and humanity of the unborn.<\/p>\n<p><em>Author&#8217;s Note: I was blessed to write the song, &#8216;Dolce Angeli&#8217; for Devin and Steven. Written from Madalyn\u2019s viewpoint,\u00a0it is a song that lets parents know their child in Heaven is doing okay. Many women and men have said it has brought peace and comfort to them.
