Meghan Murphy is the founder of Feminist Current<\/a>. Styled as a \u201cleading feminist website,\u201d it offers \u201ca unique perspective on pop culture, politics, current events, sexuality, gender, and many other issues that are often underrepresented or misrepresented by most media sources.\u201d It also supports the abortion industry<\/a>.<\/p>\n

What Murphy\u2019s not, however, is fan of pornography. According to her<\/a>, porn adds to \u201cthe widespread problem of violence against women.\u201d But while she doesn\u2019t approve of pornography,\u00a0it seems\u00a0she has something in common with those who do.<\/p>\n

A recent study<\/a> published in the Journal of Sex Research found that male porn viewers tend to hold \u201cless negative attitudes toward abortion.\u201d The study\u2019s authors characterize this as \u201cegalitarian\u201d and suggest that men with pro-abortion views are potentially \u201cuseful allies<\/a>\u201d for women. Many women who have been to abortion clinics would be surprised to hear that.<\/p>\n

There’s evidence that more than\u00a0half<\/a> of women who have abortions are pressured into doing so. Why would someone tell a woman to abort? Child support, for one thing. It\u2019s not cheap, a fact that \u201cbro-choice<\/a>\u201d author Christian McQueen has commented<\/a> on:<\/p>\n

Of course, the offer of a \u201cnew Prada purse\u201d isn\u2019t always persuasive enough, so some men resort to blackmail<\/a> and financial coercion<\/a> instead.<\/p>\n

Others prefer threats of physical violence, and\u00a0they often don\u2019t\u00a0respond well when those threats are ignored. Women have been shot<\/a>, stabbed<\/a>, bludgeoned<\/a>, burned<\/a> and smothered<\/a> for refusing to exercise their \u201cright to choose.\u201d That might help explain why the CDC lists homicide as a leading cause<\/a> of death during pregnancy.<\/p>\n

Sexual predators appreciate abortion, too. Gary Cross<\/a> did, especially after his wife noticed that her 13 year-old daughter was putting on weight. Knowing he\u2019d gotten her pregnant, Cross\u00a0took his victim to Planned Parenthood, America’s largest abortion chain.<\/p>\n

Despite the girl being well below the age of consent, staff there didn\u2019t contact authorities. Instead, they referred her for a late-term abortion,\u00a0thus allowing\u00a0Cross to resume the abuse when she got home.<\/p>\n

Cross wasn\u2019t unique:\u00a0John Blanks, Jr.<\/a>, Adam Gault<\/a>, Joseph Coles<\/a>, Kevon Walker<\/a>, Edgar Ramirez<\/a>, Timothy Smith<\/a> and dozens of\u00a0other abusers<\/a> got similar help from abortionists as well.<\/p>\n

It’s great\u00a0that Ms. Murphy doesn’t like violence against women. What’s not so great? The fact that her friends in the abortion industry are enabling it.<\/p>\n

She can help change\u00a0that by\u00a0supporting legislation<\/a>\u00a0to\u00a0protect women from\u00a0coerced abortions. She can also join with pro-lifers in asking Congress<\/a>\u00a0to redirect\u00a0Planned Parenthood’s\u00a0half billion<\/a> dollar subsidy to community health centers<\/a>\u00a0–\u00a0places where people of limited financial means can get the care that they need.<\/p>\n

Because the truth is,\u00a0abortion supporters\u00a0do make useful allies. After all,\u00a0plenty of violent men depend on them.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
