Supporters wrote callous messages about how they didn&#8217;t regret their abortions, or how murdering their preborn child made them feel happier and more fulfilled, that they were thriving and had no guilt and no shame.<\/p>\n<p>But then, pro-lifers came up with a new hashtag: #ShoutYourAdoption.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\"><a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/ShoutYourADOPTION?src=hash\">#ShoutYourADOPTION<\/a> because ALL lives matter<\/p>\n<p>\u2014 Meagan Kriger (@MeaganKriger) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MeaganKriger\/status\/646110698452422656\">September 21, 2015<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>The pro-abortion activists on Twitter often repeated the same argument in their stories of why they had abortions: they weren&#8217;t ready for a baby. They weren&#8217;t the parent type. Their boyfriend threatened to leave them. What else were they supposed to do?<\/p>\n<p>Adoption is the answer <a href=\"\/news\/abortion-vs-adoption-why-so-many-choose-the-first-and-what-we-can-do\/\">that&#8217;s never really discussed<\/a>, and especially not by Planned Parenthood. After all, there aren&#8217;t big bucks to be made by facilitating an adoption. But that doesn&#8217;t mean that pro-lifers aren&#8217;t willing to speak out and share their inspirational adoption stories.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">In 1985, my dad adopted me:a fatherless boy. What they continually fail to realize is that abortion isn&#8217;t about bodily autonomy; a woman does, indeed, have the right to do what she wants with her own body. But the preborn baby&#8217;s body is not hers. A preborn baby is an independent human being, a fact <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dakotavoice.com\/Docs\/South%20Dakota%20Abortion%20Task%20Force%20Report.pdf\">supported by science<\/a>, yet the abortion lobby is completely unwilling to respect the baby&#8217;s bodily autonomy.<\/p>\n<p>And what about the baby&#8217;s choice?<\/p>\n<p>The baby did not choose to be conceived. The baby did not participate in any irresponsible behavior. Yet the baby is the one to bear the punishment for something she didn&#8217;t choose to do. How does that make any sense?<\/p>\n<p>On top of all of this, there&#8217;s another common refrain in #ShoutYourAbortion: that a woman&#8217;s life would be ruined by having a baby. Many of the #ShoutYourAbortion tweeters gave examples about wanting to protect their future.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"twitter-tweet\" lang=\"en\">\n<p dir=\"ltr\" lang=\"en\">Because I&#8217;m an AP honors student and I wanted a better future for my future children. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/hashtag\/ShoutYourAbortion?src=hash\">#ShoutYourAbortion<\/a><\/p>\n<p>\u2014 \u00abmother venus\u00bb (@adriannadelrey) <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/adriannadelrey\/status\/645720840458268672\">September 20, 2015<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>The implication is that women are not strong enough to have a baby and go to school, or have a baby and build a career&#8230; or that women are not strong enough to make the difficult decision to put their baby up for adoption. Yet it&#8217;s pro-lifers who are anti-woman?<\/p>\n<p>Pro-lifers are the ones who believe that women <em>are<\/em> strong enough, that women <em>are<\/em> capable. We are willing to be there to help women through a crisis pregnancy. Pro-abortion activists can&#8217;t say that.
