Prior to\u00a0a planned House vote on removing Planned Parenthood’s taxpayer funding, Rep. Diane Black (R-TN)\u00a0pledged<\/a> to “personally call every Senator [she] know[s] so that we can get this measure to the President\u2019s desk.”<\/p>\n

Every single Member of Congress, pro-life and pro-choice alike, \u00a0should want to ensure that laws are followed and that taxpayer dollars are spent with integrity,” Black said. “That\u2019s not an ideological extreme- that\u2019s called doing our job.”<\/p>\n

She further noted that defunding the abortion giant would “not cut a single dime from public health funding,” but rather would “reallocat[e] funding to the more than 13,500 facilities nationwide that provide true preventive care to those who need it most.”<\/p>\n

Black declared that “we face big challenges in Congress this fall, but nothing \u2013 nothing \u2013 could be more important than how we treat a human life.”<\/p>\n

As Live Action News has covered<\/a> over the past several months, Black is the lead sponsor of the Defund Planned Parenthood Act of 2015, and has been one of the most outspoken members of Congress on Planned Parenthood’s federal subsidies and their activities exposed by the Center for Medical Progress.
